I had always wondered why people dont grow fruit and vegies and barter with each other. All the big shops these days charge an arm and a leg for things that nature can provide us with a bit of tlc. I saw www.greentradersglobal.com and think its an interesting concept. I have a bunch of garden planter things that are hollowed out logs I was going to throw out, but may come in use to someone else so will post it up soon. It would be great if people started doing that sorta stuff, neighbors sharing stuff with each other. You grow tomatoes, I grow cucumbers and we trade it. People sharing seeds or seedling. I think if we took more responsibility and tried to live a bit more self sufficiently, we can help the environment. If we have fruit and vegies which we can share, then there may be less trips to the shops to buy those items, so less fuel usage, less greenhouse gas etc. I think people trade and share with family and friends, but I would love to see it become a world wide thing, where everyone does it, to make the world one big happy community Anyway just thought I would let people know in case its of any interest and to help reduce rubbish/landfill and to try and recycle and share a bit more. Edit: Oh it looks like the site I mentioned above is for USA only.... There is one for Australia if you click the drop down link on the top right and it takes you to www.greentraders.com.au Hopefully there will be more for Europe/Asia etc.etc.etc.
