Hey everyone! I'm looking to find out what's all involved in creating a commune. I mean, I'm getting people together and I know that we'll need a large area of land to enjoy/build on, and that we'll have TONS of fun renovating buildings and creating a fun place to live together. I'm just curious as to how much it'll usually run me to buy the land and buildings. I'm think of buying or acquiring (Through someone who wants to be part of the commune and who has a property to use) around 20+ acres of land with one or two buildings that could easily have well water to use or a stream nearby that doesn't require much to filter it. As for what I have to offer to everyone, I know how to build electric generators in theory and am confident that I'll have a few to use. I'm a technology geek and I know a ton about computers and electronics. I'm also an energy healer through my chi and can provide alternative care for people especially to relax after a hard day's work and teach them how to use their chi to heal. I'm also collecting an assortment of seeds for planting and I don't intend to have any animals in the commune for meat as I couldn't stand seeing a creature alive one second and on my plate the next. In other words, I don't want to meet the cow before I eat the meat. (I'm not a vegetarian, but I could become one without a problem and I've tried it.) All I'm trying to do now is make this dream a reality. If anyone is interested in joining or donating their property to the cause, I'd love to have you as long as we all love each other, help each other, make each other smile, and keep nature happy as well.
Trying to get to one in VA myself but I wish you luck in OH. Look into producer gas generators, FEMA published a nice little pamphlet on how to build a simple setup that you could use to power a small gas or diesel engine which in turn could spin those generators (Or rewired alternators or however you work it.) Google should get ya' there. Oh yea', welcome to HF.
Hey Fritz! Thanks for the suggestion, but I plan on building electrical generators that work without another source. This not only is free after the machine is built, but better for the environment.
Ahhh, one of those Kearsey (sp?) systems? Have yet to tinker with those. But as far as it being better for the environment I'm not so sure. If producer gas generators were used say in California where all the wildfires happen, folks would probably spend allot more time gathering up deadwood and tending to their Forests and not only would that cut down on the Intensity of forest fires but quite possibly the frequency given the dry tinder fuels available would be at a minimum. Not to mention, when running a producer gas generator one is basically taking all those unburnt hydrocarbons (The pollutant part of it) from the fires smoke and using them as a fuel and helping sequester additional carbon in a solid form which could then be used as a soil amendment. Look into Terra Preta, blows the doors off Miracle Grow and does wonders in areas where the soil has been worked to death by previous generations. :cheers_2:
Here's a pic of what I'm talking about (May vary from what mine will look like, but the same concept) and a link to my post on how to build one. http://www.hipforums.com/newforums/showthread.php?p=6581729
SCAM ALERT ??? . the free energy devise from InnovativeTech ?- they ask the curious to send them 9$ based upon the vaguest , stupidist assurances it works as promised . Annie - get rid of that link . but sure , create free energy if you are able and even if it's just enough to read by .
I'm not sure if you're trying to stop it because you're being suppressed in thought or you have something to gain by suppressing this knowledge. I've built a small scale model of this and yes, it does work. I intend to build a larger one.
Anywhere you go trying to push this bogus technology, you will come across looking like an idiot, or a scam artist. Or maybe a scam artist who doesn't realize how transparent the scheme is. If it's an issue of joining a commune, you're likely to get people telling you "Nice talking to you, hope your plans work out, goodbye." Ah, so many people who are suppressed in thought. It's a tragedy.
