I really want my band to be a kick-ass funk band like the James Gang. Like the song they play: Funk #49

I think I can see myself blending a mix of Blues, Funk, and Metal with a Celtic base.... maybe even a little African harmony as well... Basically it'll end up kinda like every other jam band, but hopefully different in it's own way. Either way it'll have to have a Fender Telecaster, a Hammond B3 w/ Leslie, an Irish didgereedoo, harmonicas, a few Gibson hollow-body guitars... any will really do, a Marshall PA system, and spoons. All other instruments are simply extra. I guess it'll kinda end up like Otis Taylor, but hopefully a lil' happier...

i'm gonna be making music that people think - woah he's weird, and walk away. every recording i make is going to be different from the one before, and no-one is going to sound the same as me. :p

    hmm...

for the performing aspect, i see myself doing something in the symphonic orchestra circuit. that won't be for a long time though, seeing as though most orchestras accept the older, more experienced players. i can also see myself playing in some sort of rock/hip hop/funk/jazz/jam band :p, maybe as a drummer, maybe as something else. i've always wanted to combine all types of music and put it into one ensemble.

I'm hoping to find a group of people interested in emulating the styles of my favorite bands, Jump Little Children, Great Big Sea, and Carbon Leaf, forming a fusion of alternative rock and Irish jig. It sounds like an odd combonation, but I love it. This won't happen, however, until I've mastered the tin whistle and can hold my own on the bass guitar... maybe even get an upright bass as well. For now, I'm perfectly happy being a lyricist.

More free improvisation, semi-composed pieces using biofeedback/electronics/found sounds, more improvised ambient/drone, maybe some heavy minimalist chamber sludge rock with drums, detuned/effected cello & viola, electronics. Maybe all of it at once. Maybe none of the above. Who knows, really? I'll keep an open mind and see what happens...

ideally, i'd like to play in a sort of peace-punk/ska/reggae band with jamming in styles such as raw funky phish, cream, hendrix, and occasionally sonic youth. haha. sonic youth. but i'm not the guitar wizard i need to be yet. i guess the ideal lineup would be 2 guitars who share rhythm and lead, my friend on mandolin, drums + random friends doing percussion, someone with a hammond and a korg (don't know anyone now), e-bass, and occasional trumpet. it'd be like the maturation of our old highschool ska/punk band.

definitely the dirty, dirty rock.. something original... we've had ideas of
    surrealistic-prog-screamo-core or
    electronicore

something with lots of screaming and rockin guitarring, that is for sure... and shit your pants drumming.
ideally i'de like to have a band composed of 2 lead guitarists, a bassist, 1 drummer, a piano player/electronic guy... with at least 2-3 of us being able to scream.... im talking Saetia Skills.
