Not sure here, will cuttings of the younger branches be able to revert to a vegetative stage with proper lighting once the flowering has begun? And would this be running the risk of creating a Monster Hermaphrodite in the process?

no, if they are soft stems... the chances of success are good.. even better than veg states.. This why you wanna pull clones as soon you know sex.

See when you sex a plant from 18 to 12hr light then back to 18hrs take clones.. your cutting is still triggering flowering hormones , if youve ever notived your clones have a few pre flowers on them faster than cuts from vegs..

did that help?.. even when you get them back on 18hr, preflowers should show all up the stem shaft during growth..

It was sort of a pre-emptive question as this is the first full blown harvest I've had to help with and now the Roommate is asking about cloning his favorite plant which is almost ready to clip, manicure and cure,,, so no, haven't noticed preflowers yet but as long as it wont stop us from growing children I guess it's time to get some rooting hormone. :D

3 card holders and a "full garden", been feeling fairly foggy-headed since moving to Commerce city. :eggnog:

I have pulled clones from white haired plants but full buds never.... what you can do that i have also done is after you harvest leave bottom nugs and then you start a high nitrogen diet with 24 hr lighting.... leaves will start to grow out of the buds and just keep vegging with large nitrogen and plant will start to gro againb and then you can clone and leave as mother plant..... again the reveg was out of desperation but it worked

If your plants goes the full bloom term (in wild plant would of seeded and started to die out long ago) without going hermi then most unlikely to hermi on ya when ya re veg or do cutting from a bloom state. As with all re vegs dont be worried if ya plant or cutting at first start to grow curly wrinkly leafs or single blade leafs.

true rocklobster when i revegged my clones did start off with a curly leaf set but then they go right back to normal i thought it might have been the nitrogen levels and boost but after a few days all was well in the world

^^^ that is also true it is a sign of slightly high nitrogen levels in a normal grow but in re veg state you cant really avoid it cos thats what you want so as long as you dont see burning all should be ok.
As for cutting in bloom or veg state only use new soil as high nitrogen levels dont help rooting.
As a general rule in the plant world nitrogen aids growth potassium fruit and phosphorus rooting but all plants will need a balanced mix.

Thank you eechane agree nice little forum we have here full of helpful ppl.
I tend to see this more when cuttings were take in bloom but another common mistake with cuttings is after 2 or 3 weeks the cutting can start getting yellow leafs mainly at bottom at which point ya'd think needs feeding so ya feed it and burn it up when in fact its just a sign that its starting to take but has.nt got the root structure yet to feed from the soil.

i have learned over the years that with clones i wait for full root systems and hps light before i add nutrients.... i use many diff substartes..... for instance this new grow im starting i cut clones froma 10 yr old grower veteran and i cut clones started in soil because i like soil for mother plants.... less chance of mess ups..... but i dont add nutrients till like i said when i start hps lighting then i start nutrient regiment.... always have done it this way....... also rocklobster a question what was your highest yield on a plant.... myself i grew a 1/2 pound dried medicine from one lavender clone i grew i mean im use to growing diff strains seeds, clones or clones from someone already growing.... i use to get 1-2 ounces which was miserable till i learned topping and supercropping..... topping automatically adds yield because more tops to see light and then bending for me adds weight like you dont get crappy airy fluffy weed you get dense rocks of pure medicine....
