Oz has a lot of nice scenery, beaches etc But on a day to day living basis, Australia is a hole, every country town or small town on the coast looks the same I'm a big fan of urbanization, in Aus Sydney is really the only city big enough to be exciting. Theres Melbourne too, but its a bit too cold for me Its not so much a Sydney thing, If Perth was as big as Sydney, I'd be fine with experimenting, but it aint By now I've been all over Aus, A lot of places are great to visit, but I find pretty much everyone to be too Yokal everywhere else but the two big cities., and I really cant stand the attitude of most of them, they are a little bit backward Our Senior Politicians all seem to look like either kiddly fiddlers or school principals. And Australia Law seems to be ludicrously bureaucratic All that makes me sound like an a-hole, but oh well Australia is a great looking place, kind of boring otherwise, filled with 20 million reasons inbreeding is a bad thing
Duh! What most Aussies don't realize is that they are still prisoners! Prisoners of a system where the good ol' boys own everything, monopolies rule, bigotry reigns, big brother censors the Internet watching where you go and what you post, a real conservative society for the most part, esp. outside the cities. But yes it is certainly beautiful! Too bad the Aussies have had a couple of hundred years to trash it, herd the Aborigines onto desolate reservations (the ones that survived the genocide), turn virgin rain forest into deserts and pollute the waters so bad the Great Barrier Reef is dying. And still they aren't doing enough to protect their land and sea as there are still lots of profits to be made from destroying it.
I'm the opposite, I hate big cities. I like to be far out and away from them when I can. But your right about the scenery. So many amazingly beautiful places to see and experience.
What A Load Of Sewerage, Both Of You Should Be Ashamed Of Yourselves.... And To Think This Crap Is Posted In The Australia Thread.... Should Have Been Posted In "PURE BULL ".... Sneers Glen.
There is plenty of things to do anywhere, if your around bueatiful people and live your life, anywhere you are on the planet is great. I live in sydney and i find there is plenty to do, as well as the alternative lifestyle and music and art. People want change in this city and there are free thinking people everywhere. Dont generalize. I dont know who you hang with, but maybe you shoud find some other people to hang with. And your whole argument is pretty simple and lame. It sounds very self important.
I don't see how all of the country towns look the same, they are very diverse and all have great things to see. I find it funny how some people talk down on the people who live in country towns when they live in the big city, I'd much rather live in a nice small town where i don't get stuck in traffic and breath polluted air 24/7. But i guess it's just the way you look at it and what you want for your country.
The country is the best part of Australia. It is the cities which all look alike and urbanisation/suburbanisation which is destroying the place.
The best thing Australia has produced in my lifetime is.... JULIAN ASSANGE! Free Julian Assange and Bradley Manning! Finally an Aussie with BALLS to go against the Establishment. The rest are just SHEEP being led to slaughter...
