Im not telling anyone to wash there hair (i just noticed they may look bad) I was wondering if anyone missed washing there hair a lot or missed brushing there hair a lot. I honestly love my hair but have decided its the worst hair ever, its so thick i use to shave the back of my head to almost the top of my ears just to deal with it in the summer. i break hair ties almost everyday trying to pull it up. It takes 2 hours to blow dry and at least another hour to flat iron. Its kinky and curly and wavy and frizzy and every kind of hair you can think of in this odd combo (Ok ok its not think at all or stright at all). My hair dresser noticed the roots are like a white girls hair but about an inch down it feels more like a black girl hair. I wake up with bigger hair then slash. So as much as i would love to shave my head ir brade it in a million braids or put in dreads i cant. I must brush my hair everyday, I must run my hands thru it 20million times a day, I have to hold it over my upper lip and make hubby kiss me and teash him that he kissed a man with a stach 3 times a day, i have to wash it every 2 days at least and if i dont condition I have a mini freak out because it does not feel right. Did any of you guys feel that way about your hair b4 getting dreads, how did you get over it. Did you ever have a spaz day and run around crying because you felt the need to brush it but didnt want to at the same time?
The only thing that was hard for me was not being able to run my fingers through my hair for the first year. If something was in my face I had to do a weird palm slide to get it to stay back. For a while I was able to run my fingers through the locks themselves, but recently I've had a lot of shorter, loose hair starting to form little tangles that I don't want to rip apart by running my fingers through. Also, I enjoy washing my hair more now than I did with loose hairs
OK ok im going to admit that run around crying part seemed a bit extreem, but it is comming from the girl who woke up because a wrinkle formed at the foot of the bed got overly annoyed, started crying because kicking it didnt help and finaly woke up hubby screaming at the wrinkle while tossing all the bedding across the room Nope im not mega ocd or anything socks, sheets, hair, and driving (i always have to go the same way) are my only biggies. Im a clutter bug and id rather work on a car over clean a house any day of the week
Nope! The day i decided to grow some locks, was the last time i ever ran my fingers through my own soft hair, and its never bothered me what so ever. That's what i use the missus' hair for now
ok your a little OCD, people don't get freaked out over sheets, that's wierd. I've never missed straight hair, and i doubt your dreads will last long if you miss it that bad. my two cents, good luck though
<3 I used to love brushing my hair, and washing it, but I don't think I've ever missed it. I miss being able to run my fingers through my hair, and play with it.. I always used to play with it and nibble bits etc. But I have a few inches of undreaded hair here and there for emergencies. I can sorta run my fingers through my dreads now ^^ I can only compare it to being veggie, I used to love eating meat but now I've been veggie for like.. 2 years, eating meat has just fallen out of my routine. As has brushing ^^
i miss being able to run my fingers through it like i used to. only sometimes. not enough to get rid of my locks.
Nope, I just kept feeling more comfortable with myself and my appearance and physically better as my scalp got healthier.(Tried the generic shampoo I used to use a few times recently, it caused huge increases in oilyness, took weeks to put right, and sores, like chemical burns, on my scalp, after 10 months of bronners.)
what kind of shampoo did you use? Just wondering cuz I got herbalissence in the blue bottle twice now. The first time my head itched like crazy and I was pulling chunks of dead skin off my head the size of the first knuckle on my thumb and well it was bad bad. So i dumped it but then figured mayb i messed up my head bleaching. I got it almost a year later and it happend again. Im not pleased one bit.
ahh no, nothing like that. This has happened several times borrowing other peoples shampoo, notably suave, there was at least one other brand, but I can't remember it.
