America has a rich tradition of giving weapons to it's enemies, Iraq, Iran and the Talaban being the most famous. Today, one of our biggest fears is the Talaban getting control of Pakistan and it's nuclear arsenal. So, to insure that this doesn't happen, (here's the punch line) we're going to give Pakistan $2 billion more in weapons. Why don't we just save some time and air drop those weapons in Waziristan. History is not on our side on this one. .
Of course, it wouldn't be right to shoot somebody unless they had a gun in their hand. You might have to explain it to someone, can't have that.
Not surprising as it historically is done all the time. There actually is a real irony in this scenario each time. The saying "politics makes for strange bedfellows" (Charles Dudley Warner) holds true but war makes for the kinky ones.
