OK total brain fart, I cant for the life of me rember what they are called but after looking around i seen some beaded things for dreads and though OMG O would totaly love this. Its my first 2 so cut me a little slack I didnt even think about doing much of a design or anything. So here they are the bead things This one is a mix of a dark silver bead with a color changing bead but the flas kind of blended them together. This one is well multi colored her words to decribe it would be "wow mega cute mom". They are brighter then in the pic but again the flash was a butt head I hope they dont fall out or break she would be bummed. But i dont expect them to last long its just sewing thred. Mayb next time Ill make it longer and try to get like a heart or skull or something on it.
Honestly it was very easy unless i stoped paying attention lol. Im trying to think of how to explain so it makes sence. Ummm ok so like lets say you use 9 beads for the top row. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 then you put on number 10 bead and take the string and put it thru number 9 again Pull the strings to make thight. Then put on number 11 and put the string back thru number 7 and so on skipping every other bead as you go. Once you get to the 3rd row you will notice half the beads stick up a little, those are the beads you will put the string in after you put on each bead. to finish it i kind of sewed it shut going in and out of the beads on the egdge and it made a nice tube. Use a string much longer then you think you will need, it uses a lot more then i ever thought it would. The 2nd one used a string about as long as my arm. I also tie a bigger bead on the end that way things dont slip off and its easy to pull on to make it tight. Thank you tons for reminding me what they are called LOL.
Cool, I love peyote stitch sleeves! By the way, there is a tutorial here: http://www.dreadspullen.nl/tutorials/peyotestitchsleeves-tut-2.php
