Hi, I recently began meditating every day, and some strange things happened. I was attempting to see my own aura in the mirror and I was deeply relaxed, when my reflected face began to change. The first time it happened I was pretty spooked and so stopped meditating, but then I decided to try again, and I was less fearful and was able to watch my face changing. A sort of smokiness filled the air, it seeped in from the corners of my eyes and then I was able to see my own aura, which came up as green and purple mixing into each other. I have not been meditating for very long and have only just started doing it on a daily basis, but I'm wondering if anyone has had similar experiences (the changing faces in particular). I'm really wondering what they mean, and how to go from being able to see my own aura in a deeply relaxed state, to seeing other people's.

This must sound pretty weird, but if anyone can relate, please do.

First off, there is nothing in the universe to be afraid of, so work on releasing your fear. Just realizing and accepting that we are all cells in the body of God (which is everything that exists) will help. While I have not yet dabbled in the aura seeing arts, I have read about them. The practioners I've read about suggest starting out by visualizing rather than direct seeing. Pick someone whose aura you would like to view, close your eyes, go into a meditative state, then visualize that person in your mind's eye with their aura. As you get better at this, real time seeing people's auras will develop.
Remember that strange only exists in your mind that is used to looking at things in a delusional way. What you are starting to glimpse is the way things really are. Do not dwell on the meaning of things as it will all become clearer as you deepen your practice, which deepens your awareness, which deepens your clarity, which deepens your consciousness, which raises your personal vibration level, which raises all of these things in the people & world around you. If you do some searching on the internet, you can find out what the different colors in peoples' auras mean.

i have to had this also happen to me, especially if im high or tripping, even more so while im tripping. when i first looked in the mirror my whole body would morph. a lot of meditation and a lot of acid later, now when i look in the mirror i usually have a translucent face and a bright light surrounding my body. sometimes a big buddhic smile will encompany this even if im not smiling really. im not sure to wat this is. i believe it is a look into your inner soul. i believe when your in meditive state of mind, you see through your souls eyes. allowing to see the true inner you. a lot of hindus believe in multiple souls that make up a one whole soul which is you. maybe the morphing is showing of the inner souls that make up you. i think the idea is to have them all come together as one to vibrate as single frequency of love.

Weird. I thought beginners usually started seeing red/blue for their first time.

personally Ive never been able to see my aura - but would love to. I believe it relies on seeing subtle qualities with your eyes - the aura can be seen but it is requires training of the eyes to notice it.
