:iagree: God I hate Fox News. When I am in a waiting room and Fox is on I will ask them to change the station. If they won't, I leave.

Perhaps those that are draped with the name "hippie" may be closer to being like Jesus than we suspect. Many of his actions were similar to what we consider "hippie". Lack of interest in wealth, concern for others, stressing what is really important in life (Treat your neighbor as yourself)
Peace, compassion etc. etc. Unfortunately few people meet all the ideals of a true hippie - only parts here and there.

I always prefer this image of JC.
It's more vulnerable than the slightly more obnoxious pictures we generally associate him with (above my post for e.g).
He looks like he could be wrong rather than always right.
As for him being like a hippie...mmm, maybe, but he was probably a lot more conservative than we like to think he was.
    So I'd say: "Kinda"

We don't know him so you can project anything on him that seems fitting.

I'm reposting something from another thread I think is relevant to the discussion here.

"When I think of Jesus, I think of someone more like Jerry Garcia or Bob Marley, not a suit and a tie. The guy basically said God is love, to love one another as we love our selves, and that were all the sons and daughters of men, as well as the children of God. He told the rich to sell all their possessions and give their proceeds to the poor and that a rich man's chance of getting into heaven was as likely as a camel going through the eye of the needle (just a clever way of saying "fucking impossible man"). Believe me, if you are an egomaniac like some of these Wall Street bankers, death isn't going to be an easy process for you.

...total hippie. I mean, he didn't even hold down a real job. He just sorta drifted around from place to place, spreading his message of love and condemning the establishment. Overturning the money changer tables seems more like something Abby Hoffman would have done than Pat Robertson, who I believe Jesus would have also condemned as a dis-compassionate reptile. His followers also said he walked on water and turned water into wine, but if you eat enough mushrooms, anything's possible. Maybe it was just his mastery of mind over matter? Who knows. Focusing on him as some deity ignores the underlying truths of that enlightened man. The aristocracy took control of the church and approved the records of him that they wanted to approve and burned the ones they deemed heretical, so I don't really trust the biblical account. There's a kernel of truth, shrouded in aberration and political manipulation."
