what do you guys think?

i have been seriously considering getting a bong for home use. i want one that is inexpensive but nice. I dont want glass because im real clumsy. I found one on grass city that would be 26.50 with shipping and everything. Its made of bamboo and is 25 cm(little under 10 inches....hrmm reminds me of something )
what do you guys think about bamboo? anyone have one or used one and is it any good?

anybody ever used bamboo?

 

I used to have one but it wasn't very good (homemade). If its a legit bong the only downside I see is being unable to see how much water you put in it. The taste is slightly affected from the wood but I found it nice.

 

Do you have any homemade ones? You can make some really nice ones with a little imagination, and some supplies. Get stoned then look around the house for stuff to use. Once you get the concept, its really easy. If you've never made a bong, start with the classic water bottle bongs, just to get some practice, or if you're good with that kind of stuff, go right ahead and make something awesome.

My friend made one out of a fire extenguisher and its really wicked. The lever used to extinguish the fire is used to let the smoke into your lungs, so if you can't figure it out, you can't smoke. Pretty funny when there's a bunch of stoned people and someone new comes along who's never used the bong before. :H

If you want some brainstorm ideas, I could try and help you out. What kind of stuff do you have lying around? Homemade bongs I find are much better, if you're looking for something cheap. Because for the price, you can have a lot more than one, you have something to be proud of, and its a fun hobby, even when you're stoned. If you're going to buy a bong, I'd spend a little on it, since its going to be (hopefully) something you're going to keep for a while. I really like glass, but you said you didn't want something out of glass. I've seen some wicked metal bongs before. Its great to see what engenous things you can come up with to smoke.

 

yeah man ive made plenty of homemade ones but i want a nice one. the reason is ay inexpensive is because it has to be small and msot inexpensive ones are small. so bamboo aint that bad. and as for glass, my only glass piece is a 2 inch spoon wiht a huge screen in it cuz i chipped the inner circle when i was scraping. i have 2 metals pipes that are called asa and brandon cuz they identical and two of my best friends are identical twins named asa and brandon. and then i have two J rollers ones name is limey and the other is coney. i wont upject to a homemade piece if im in a fix but i like to have nice pieces to smoek out of rather then things covered in duct tape that look like frankenstein.

Yes, me and my ex used to use a bamboo one. It was awesome and I would buy one again. In fact I may use the site you mentioned to do just that.

I would suggest you get an acrylic bong over bamboo, unless you really like how they look. Bamboo may be fine for a little bit, but after awhile they get VERY nasty, and are VERY hard to clean.

While I can't stand acrylic bongs I'd much rather have one compared to Bamboo. You can get them in the US for rather cheap.

 

yeah but i was going thru grass citys acryl bongs and i didnt see any good. as far as i know grasscity is the only online headshop that carries more the glass. (i have order online cuz im not 18)

 

Exactly. I had a bamboo piece and it really started to smell after a while, like it was rotting. Maybe I should have poured the water out after each smoke, so It could dry.

im too clumsy for glass id break ti the first time i used it guarenteed. i just bought http://shop.grasscity.com/shop/grasscity/PB171.html its nice and acrylic so i dont have to be worried about breaking it

 

I have a bong just like the one your buying. but my favorite bong of all time is my 3 ft acrylic no bubble, it gives me the biggest most satisfieng hits, i get 2x higher off that thing than any other bong ive smoked from. I have had it for about 3 years and never had 1 complaint, and if your going to looks, fuck it, when u pull that baby out it will impress ppl more than any fancy bubble or shapes every could. So thats what i recomend, a long straight acrylic bong.
