do cigarettes make any one sick ever? when i'm drunk i can smoke them and be fine, and i love them but when i'm sober and i have one [especially if i haven't eaten in a little while] they make me dizzy and nauseous and i often feel actually sick for a while after..

it doesn't necessarily happen ALL the time though which is weird but it happens like 80% of the time if i'm not drunk.

anybody know why that is/get the same way?

My first cigarette left me feeling like I wanted to vomit. Nicotine is a poison after all. If I smoke more than two at once I feel pretty ill.

lol i know they are bad for me but i'm not new to them or the smell [im the only one in my family who isnt an actual "smoker"]

i was just wondering if there is a physiological reason why it effects me sometimes when im sober/not full up and why i dont even feel slightly sick from them other time [predominantly when drunk]

idk... they are bad but i just had one earlier and felt like vomiting which boggled me.

yeah, they can make me feel shitty. not so much during that 3 month period when i was a smoker, but any other time if i smoke a whole one it's just too much.

it doesn't help that i sometimes forget what i'm smoking and end up holding it in for far too long...

This has happened to me before, especially if I haven't eaten yet. Once you smoke them more often it happens less often.

Once when you know someone who dies from coffin nails you learn how evil they are. Drinking and smoking go hand in hand. One supports another, making it harder to fight. I had my years of smoking and i beat it December 08.

I could get drunk and smoke all night. When you wake up, you realize how bad they are for you. A bad hangover in your lungs.

To quit smoking not only do you have to over come your mental fight with em, you have to beat the social fight as well. The social fight beats most people in my experience.

They are not worth it. The taxes from cigs just go to the bankers. The new house, car, property in another country. Research it.... You think those cig taxes fix roads or schools?

its the buzz you get from the nicotine and rat shit and god knows what else is in them. i dont smoke cigs but i used to chew tobacco a lot and my first dip i had i had to sit down, the world was spinning, and it was really weird. i still get like that sometimes when i chew because i only do about once a month now. but that shit is really bad for you, stick with natural things if youre gonna smoke.

I smoked black and milds, and yes, they often made me feel somewhat sick.

Smoking them while waiting for the bus was awesome, but then I would get extremely motion sick; sometimes to the point where I would have to get off of the bus early and walk the rest.

Thanks guys... i don't need advice on smoking and how it's bad for you though, i know that.. i'm only a social smoker like at parties and i also crave them when im with people smoking.. i'm not addicted or anything i was just having an awful day and a friend of mine gave me one to "relax" .... whatever, i'm not a victim of peer pressure i just took it and smoked it and then felt awful after and was wondering why it affected me that much. it's interesting to hear what you all have to say though, they really are nasty things aren't they

Cigarettes go down like water when i'm drinking, but I'm the exact same way; If I smoke one any other time they make me feel like absolute shit. The only explanation for that I can come up with is alcohol dulls pain so you don't feel the bad side effects of cigarettes when youre drinking in the same way you don't feel when you bust your ass when you're drinking either.

I don't think its the nicotine and the tobacco so much as all the additives they put in that make you feel like shit. I also think those additives end up being more addictive than the nicotine. Whenever i have a pack of all-natural cigarettes like american spirits I don't smoke them nearly as compulsively as if I have a pack of cigarettes with all the additives.

Look at some of the shit they put in cigarettes: acetic acid, ammonia, hydrogen cyanide, lactic acid, methyl sulfide, mimosa extract (interesting..), 9,12-Octadecadienoic Acid (48%) And 9,12,15-Octadecatrienoic Acid (52%) (whatever the fuck that is), phosphoric acid, pyridine, sodium chloride, sodium hydroxide, urea....

jesus, no wonder they make people feel like shit. not to mention that burning all these chemicals alters their chemical make up
