I've met a number of people in person after meeting them on the web. Most seem more normal and less crazy in person. Perhaps it's because you can say just about anything on the web. .
I'm just that grumpy, sarcastic guy with the awful sense of humor. I don't think I come across as anything other than that on here, for better or worse.
I don't piss people off as much in real life. I think it's my tones. And my outspokenness varies more in real life. The people I met in real life were basically the same - but none were from this specific forum
I have met 11 people from the net. There was only one person who I met who was very different than what they appeared to be from posting. Never saw that person again in person and I stopped communication slowly with them on the net.
I think if you are happy in real life and have a positive energy you also give a positive energy in forums. If you are deliberately going to happy people in forums to piss them off or otherwise destroy good ideas you are either so frustrated and sick in your head in real life that because of jelaousy you cant stand happy people or its jour job to disturb a happy peoples forum. One of the two.
I dont think my personality really comes through at all on forums. All you're getting is my opinions, which probably gets annoying after a while. I'm also more serious on forums; I use this forum as a way to challenge my brain, practice my writing skills, and make me think. In person I'm not nearly so opinionated and I'm constantly joking around, rarely serious.
I forgot- what concerns me personally its a disaster because of my bad english my real personality doesnt come through a lot. In real life I love making fun and I laugh a lot, here I seem grim and dry, well I cant help it
I think I post honestly, I'm not sure how I come off though. Without seeing a person's body language or hearing the tone of their voice, it's hard to say. Italics, smilies, bold, etc. can help, but in the end it's not the same. For the most part, I enjoy being faceless, and I enjoy that many people on this site are defined by the content of their posts and their signatures, rather than their physical appearance. In the end it's just the interwebz and people choose what to show of themselves, so I keep that in mind.
