School isn't about intelligence, it's about showing future employers that you posses basic social, critical thinking, and information processing skills, along with getting a fundamental liberal arts education, and also that you can complete something that last longer than 10 minutes.
It's secondary purpose is to keep teenagers out of the workforce to keep job competition down.
Your fist-pumping, "fuck the system" anthem isn't revolutionary or badass, it's ignorant. It's like people on this site don't realize that they don't exist in a bubble and that society is structured as a mechanical system that must be regulated. It doesn't simply work on it's own.

It's not even the word so much that pisses me off.... It's the annoying tone of voice those little girls say it in.... I swear to god I'm gonna get a vasectomy so I never have to deal with kids again....

Oh, believe me ... I know how you feel. I failed twice because I didn't go to school .. so I was in a grade with kids two years younger than me, and even though two years doesn't seem that much of a difference, it was a nightmare.

you pretty much need a small amount of money to live. and the very least to buy land so you can grow all your food and have a perfect simple life. but you probably need money to buy food, and shelter. it will be difficult to get by when you can't get a job cuz you don't have a diploma. graduating high school doesn't automatically equal fast cars and bitches.

and you guys maybe shouldn't blame the education system. ok, maybe the SYSTEM is flawed, but there are a lot of teachers (like my fiance) who have a lot of good ideas on how to reach kids that have a hard time in school. high school was easy as fuck to me, so i can't relate to someone that has a really hard time. but i feel like most people should be able to get Ds with little to NO effort.

Going back to this, see this attitude in the thread is what I don't get. People fucking who they want to fuck when they want to fuck? And this makes you angry? Are you jealous?

    Also
It's not a bad system. When you don't finish high school that's basically saying "I couldn't do the easiest thing I will ever face in my life, now please trust me to operate machinery or handle financial transactions"

Not at all, let me clarify.
"The system" isn't some non-tangible slave-driver that people must succumb to. The system is just a euphemism for the collective people of a society. You don't work "for" the system, you contribute to the system, and in turn the system contributes to you. Education and labor should be seen as a privilege, not a burden. You are more privileged right now than the majority of humanity has been for as long as our species has existed, and the reason for that is because people have worked together to build that kind of reality. The angst driven, "I work for no one" bullshit is not only immature but entirely selfish. Society is what provides the liberties that you enjoy, and that society cannot function independent of people contributing to it.
If someone wants to become a burn-out, leech off of society's good grace and contribute nothing, then that's fine, the system allows for that. But don't bitch about the very thing that is providing you the luxury of doing so, because frankly it's just retarded.

Not to mention that apparently mechanical invention doesn't grow from preceding innovation.

please tell me how having history and math under my belt would help me operate say an excavator. or how math and history would enable me to do financial transactions. sure basic math skills are needed, but you ALSO need schooling in order to know how to do them both. so why not just skip high school and start learning how to do them. school is nothing but something that wastes your time and pounds into your head that you need to go to college in order to be something.

Jesus christ if you can't figure out how math would help you in financial transactions you need to stay in school.

You also just said you need school to learn them, then said people should just skip school.

Also to be a serious excavator weights and geometry are important skills if you ever want to actually ever any kind of responsibility on projects.

You don't go to school to learn one damn thing, school is meant to give people some semblance of a rounded education. Yea sure history might have nothing to do with operating an excavator, but if the only thing at all you know and can do is operate an excavator you're probably going to spend 90% of your life unemployed.

Getting a job is know just knowledge on how to do a particular thing. Employers want their investment to pay off, if someone with the same exact skills at the main task as you applies, but comes off as much more knowledge in other areas too, guess who's taking your job. No one wants an idiot working for them even if they can do their main job fine.

That's because school, as with most such ridiculous things in today's society, is targeted to tailor to the needs of the majority. And the majority in this case consists of a bunch of stupid schoolchildren who will jump through hoops for them. Most people aren't really smart. That's why school isn't really hard. There's no point in having something really hard that most people won't be able to do. So, at the cost of the above-average-intellect crowd, school is set up to be able to provide the average man with a wide variety of basic skills that will help them throughout their careers.

i didnt mean school as in high school, i meant school as in you need to go to construction school or a place to learn financing. why not just start there instead of starting in high school. if you are going to try to tell me people actually learn things in high school you are crazy. maybe 1 or 2 percent do, but those are the snobby kids who think they need a 4.0 or they will end up on the street. you can learn almost all the things you learn in school by just going out and experiencing life. ive learned more out of school than i have in
