High School

Almost everyone I know that dropped out ended up going back to get their GED years later, the only one that didn't was the only one smart enough to take it before (or right after) dropping out.

 

This is all coming from an almost-certified teacher (take that for what it is worth).

First, you aren't as screwed as you think are. I guarantee it - teacher's don't want you to fail, and will in all honesty bend over backwards to help you out if you honestly approach them for help and be respectful about it.

Secondly, as hard as it is to admit, high school doesn't suck as bad as you think it does. Maybe you come from abusive parents or maybe you were sexually assaulted or have experienced genuine real-life suckage - but if you think high school is that painful of an experience, odds are you haven't. But if you don't finish and graduate, the odds of having many shitty life experiences go way the hell up.

I actually agree with CC about the girls these days. I moved into this town where there is a fucking mile wide age gap between 14 and 25 with a 19 year old here and there maybe. All the girls are 14-17 (mostly on the 14 side) and they all just fuck whoever want to fuck whenever they feel like fucking. And that's not even a turn on at this point...

I remember when I was young there were just as many real people with their own opnions (even if they were stupid, at least people kind of thought for themselves) as there were the bleach-brained MTV-spawned mirrior images of what the media 'tells you you are' kids.

But... it's all just the fucking TV babies that I'm seeing now. They're all dull boring witless people who think anyone who openly THINKS is a weird creep.

And I know I'm sounding angry and judgemental... but really it makes me terriblely depressed.

 

I think you should try having a conversation with these people. I think they're just misguided. As everyone has referenced, television, MTV, makes everyone come off as an idiot. These kids are young and don't realize that that shit not only isn't real, but it's bullshit and stupid. When they grow up and are exposed to real people, they'll be okay. They're not bad people.

I also highly doubt that EVERYONE is stupid. I'm sure if you look harder, you'll find the intelligent crowd: they might just not be as handsome/pretty as the others. It seems that those who aren't as aesthetically pleasing are more likely to be mocked, have less friends, and have more time to just think about the world.

the school system is shit all around the world, it's one size fit all and if your skills aren't reading and writing then you're pretty much fucked. also they make people out to be 'stupid' just cos they aren't good at say maths/english. it's sick.
