Okay, this may be interpreted as the same topic as the thread "What Are You Listening To?" but that's not my intent. It just dawned on me as I was driving that there are certain radio stations I'll tune in because I'm in the mood to that genre of music more than another. The "What Are You Listening To?" thread seems more focused on a specific artist or song, so that's why I see this as a separate topic. Most of my radio listening is done in my car which has XM satellite radio. My standard selection is XM 47, "Classic Vinyl" which is primarily 60's and 70's classic rock recorded on vinyl. I do have my variations (e.g., the 80's channel, the BBC, and occasionally XM 125 "Quoi de Neuf" to try to maintain a bit of an ear for the French language), but by and large it's the Classic Vinyl station. What stations to others listen to predominantly? It can be satellite or local, (even short wave if you're so inclined!), but what moves you?
cassette tape.. / journey, grateful dead, pink floyd, neil diamond, billy joel, the police, dire straights.. I have adapters for mp3/and XM I let my xm expire ..
88.5 XPN university of pennsylvania raido station. A lot of crap, but you get to hear a lot of good new/underground music that you wouldn't otherwise have been exposed to. They have an online joint too... http://xpn.org/ Check it out
Depending on my mood, I alternate between three FM stations: classic hard rock, new pop/rock, and a college station that plays jazz. I love classical music, but not in the car. Most post-Mozart pieces are so long that I arrive at my destination before they tell me what I was listening to.
