Exactly. Some people are happier not thinking about things and not asking questions, and some are the complete opposite. Death will happen, so why should we fear it so much that we can't talk about it? I hate Dannii Minogue, but I still like to talk about her....
I agree. If God shows Himself right now, then I might think differently, but as it stands one cannot be 100% sure of how the world was created, and what happens once we die. It is, at best, a temporary answer, to stop the questioning and to have something to live for.
Too bad that something as simple as a book of text that we call bibles can cause people to stop being good people because of how they interpret it.
If you were making up a new religion, wouldn't that be a great way to motivate people to believe it? So...what is your view? I thought you were a Christian.
There are many points in the bible that stand on their own as a good message; treating people well and all that. It can be confusing though if we try to accept it at face value. People have been conditioned to think that it's some powerful book with a certain message. It's just a well written story that has some good moral content if one can get past all the "thou shalt not" and all the magical aspects. Unfortunately millions have used it to condemn and judge and kill. And for that it has become the symbol of something bad that many don't want to even bother with. In my opinion there's nothing in that book about life or love that one couldn't potentially find elsewhere, whether it be through personal relationships or certain drug use, or even just objective thinking. The rest of the content is just stories.
