the loop we rode was 2 miles long... 1199 people on bicycles only 5 tandems

Did you have to get a permit to do that? That's a lot of people in a residential area.

i have no idea... i just registered, got a number and rode..

this is a very bike friendly town.. so of course they want to have some kinda bicycle riding record.
