I've had dxm around 6 times, always second plateau (280-450mg) mostly with grapefruit juice. For me, the effects start to kick in normally - gravity starts to feel strange, i begin to feel a bit dissociated, thoughts are random and strange, you know the usual, but after a couple of minutes they just disappear. That's why at this time i always had a few bowls which resulted in the comeback of both the dxm and weed effects combined. This combined high has always been just awesome and flawless. However I wanted to try a higher dxm plateau and I decided to have 600mg without weed. The effects started as usual, but when they disappeared they didnt come back. Both the mental and physical effects just faded away. It feels like they are there somewhere in my mind but I don't have an access to them unless I "unlock" them with weed. My friends were having dxm + weed the same way with me but they have no trouble getting high from dxm alone. Has this happened to anyone else?
Only done it once, without weed. But i do know where your coming from. If your a regular smoker.. and usually i have found that with pot smokers they usually need to TOKE UP before the drugs are really "felt" fully. Happens to me with MDMA, i neeeda blaze to get in the "zone" most of the time.. This response Probably doesn't help you much but you're definately not alone in your boat... welcome to the HIPFORUMMS
Not really , its a dissassociative comparable to ketamine and PCP. There is some euphoria but I mainly feel pretty neutral on it even a little sick maybe. Loss of coordination, blurry vision , hallucinations and like mind scenes at higher doses.
Noooo it's not. It's a dissociative anesthetic. Although it does have some stimulant properties it is not a party drug, IMO. I have tripped on it 8 times. It's pretty intense, the most I have done is 720mg. I was completely tripped out, CEV's, definite robo-walk. __ As for the Original Post, I hear that weed greatly exaggerates the effects of DXM, maybe you are just a really fast metabolizer and need the extra kick? You drink it. Go to Erowid and read William White's DXM FAQ - it is easily the best one I have found. DO NOT do Dextromethorphan (DXM) without reading the main points of the FAQ. That's crazy. My first and only so far with 530mg had me groooooovin' for like 14 hours, no grapefruit potentiator. I usually like a little weed at the peak of a trip, especially with PEAs, but I had no desire for it on DXM. It had me right where I wanted to be the entire time. Maybe you need to ramp it up to 800-900
Did you do polystirex or HBr? The first time I tripped it was 540mg (3oz Delsym) of Polystirex - I was jacked up for about 12 hours and I felt goood for the next 12. The most i've done is 700, and I don't plan on pushing it lol.
Im able to get high on dxm alone. However when I smoke weed the trip amplifies x1000000. Or if im on a dxm afterglow, just a bowl of weed can send back to trip territory. i was at my friend's uncle's house and he smoked a bowl with me while i was on a dxm afterglow and i started trippin out. it felt weird cause he kept asking "hey are you ok? you look fuckin tripped out man" and although dxm is a dissociative and shouldnt be compared with ecstasy, i find that when im on afterglow or when im coming down, i tend to feel really compassionate towards others and feel a strong connection with others similar to the few times ive rolled.
