I found roach eggs(identified them via the almighty google) in the bottom of a lb of ground beef, big grocery chain too. I went freaking ballistic, just made one mistake. When I took it back to the store to complain I gave it to a manager to "show to the meat department", freakin' dumbest move that month. When I asked for it back because they didn't offer me anything more than a refund it had "already gone in the trash compactor". I was eventually removed from the store forcefully by the RCMP. I still tag these stores in their bathrooms as "welcome to the roach motel", ten years and counting.

"american cheese" (shampoo tasting yellow paint) between an hamburger is the first thing that comes to my mind

I work in a kitchen. One time we got a big shipment of fresh organic salad greens from a local farm. We washed them thoroughly and all that. A few days later (after already serving a few dozen salads) I was plating a salad. I grabbed a handful of greens, put them on the plate and a little frog jumped out. Yes, I still served the salad :D

We kept it as the kitchen mascot for awhile, then deep fried it and ate it :)
