Sometimes they start the day after Labor Day.

With the economy so bad, maybe they won't start early this year.

    No cable = no commercials.

We plan to decorate the house right after Halloween, but it's a special case this year...new baby coming and I am the size of a walrus and tired.

I also have to get my shopping done before the end of Nov. We'll see if I do it.

No adverts yet, but so many shops are filled with Christmas chocolates and decorations. It's getting me too excited, I love the run up to Christmas. Although, if I was a child now and started seeing Christmas things in September, I would have a hard time waiting another three months.

When the Sears Wish Book is out, you know it is coming. :)

    Seriously?

There aren't even Halloween commercials out yet, at least not where I live.

A lot of the gift shops have Christmas stuff out already. Seems funny sometimes as you go by a display for Thanksgiving, Halloween and Christmas at the same time. :)

In the U.S., they have ads showing Santa eating Thanksgiving dinner. And those ads are considered late in the season for Christmas.

Showing Santa going out trick or treating wouldn't be unusual.

A three to four month holiday shopping season has become common.

    :)

No ads, but I've noticed a couple people with their trees already set up in their windows. And a couple people with christmas lights already up.

They ready for christmas to get here damnit.

Yes, a small retail store had an ad with a Santa walking in to the store buying christmas lights.

ugh commercialism makes me hate christmas so much. i wish I could just fast forward through the whole shopping season because the ads, the crowds, the constant rush, it all drives me crazy. the only good part of christmas is christmas eve when all that crap is over and done with and the only focus is spending time with family and friends
