A conservative opinion on sex

what about pooing? i hear pooing is nice this time of year, excpet for outside. i personally try to poo inside. not inside myself mind you...i mean, its already in me, i can't rightly poo in me twice....well if i laid on my back and swung my legs up and kind of...well...never mind...what i meant was pooing inside a house as opposed to inside yourself....well....you might be able to poo inside someone else. i mean, they spread their cheeks while you poo inside them, then the next day they poo inside you, and you take turns ya know? relationships are all about sharing and taking turns. at anyrate everytime you poo the poo pile gets bigger cuz ya never stop eating, and its like a symbol of your love. your love grows, and your poo grows. its great.

i figured over population or aids, perhaps world hunger or the depleting ozone was the real problem with the world...but now that you mention it, im gonna have to agree with you on this one too.

on an ever so slightly more serious note, i personally view sex as rather special myself, but marriage i find to be trivial at best.

 

What's wrong with animal instincts? You can consider yourself to be "slightly higher than animals" if you want, but that doesn't mean you should abandon everything that 4.6 billion years of evolution has taught us.

Do you ever eat food for pleasure rather than survival? How is that any different than having sex for pleasure rather than survival (reproduction)?

And what does waiting till marriage have to do with it anyway? Are you telling me that married people never have sex for pleasure?

 

my son was born out of wedlock. he was an "accident". although i considered, tried very hard at, maintaining a relationship with his biological father, he turned out to be a deadbeat who abandoned us and was worthy of being neither husband nor father. i am glad i did not marry him, but when every time i look at my son i am glad i had sex with him, i am grateful for my little "accident".


would you negate the existence of my child? would you rather this beautiful, intelligent being had not been brought into the world by my selfish slutty festival romping? or would you rather i had married his father, and condemned us both to a life of emotional abuse and neglect, or the trauma of divorce? i've been divorced before, and i'm in the process of trying to save my second marriage. it's no picnic on anyone involved, but often, sweetie it's far better than the alternative.

dolphins are a higher being, and also have sex for pleasure. actually dolphins are the smartest creatures out there besides us, and there also the only ones out there besides us that have sex for pleasure.
so lets recap:
fish, and lower animals have sex for reproduction
dolphins and higher animals have sex for pleasure

would ceasing the sex for pleasure aspect not be taking a step backwards? i think the next stage in evolution will be sex for space travel. the more we have sex, the better our space travel abilities will be.

 

My Grandparents had sex before marriage leading to my Dad. In turn leading to my Brothers & me & again leading to our Children & Grandchildren. In that group so far no one had done anything like discover a cure for AIDS but my family owned the largest grocery store in our small town contributing to the growth of the community & my Dad provided quite a few community service kind of deeds. One of my Nieces is a school teacher, another a nurse. I don't think that I need to explain how both of those are needed people. I have a Son who BTW also was conceived prior to marriage who loaded the ammunition on one of the jets that patrolled New York City in the days after it's attack. I have a 6 year old daughter who has a large future in front of her. There are other Nieces & Nephews who maybe haven't reached their full potential or are also making intangible impacts.
I don't fully know my impact on the world but I can say that there are a lot of computer equipment & networks that either would't have been there or wouldn't be working in my wake if I hadn't been there. Many of which were supporting research in a variety of disciplines or support of things in the political, energy, military, & governmental fields. That says nothing of whatever may have or will come from my other interactions with people.

I guess where I'm going with this, oh self named god, is that the real Gods likley planned for all of this subtle but necessary ripple when they brought together that teen couple back at the turn of the last century & gave them the ability to as you so judgmentally imply act like animals.

Not to practical. Sorry, it can't work. I also would never want to do anything that would reinstate the 2 marriages that I had before my current one. Those divorces happened for good reason.

i never thought i'd say this either but... you know sex could just be saved for someone you really realyl love.. even if you aren't marrying them. why must one go through everything right away, as if it has to be an essential part of a relationship? sex can just be put aside fro those who you feel deserve it.. that would make it extra special.

The last thing the world needs isn't kids, it's kids that aren't taken care of by loving parents. Whether those parents are married or not makes no difference. You can be a married parent and still be a shitheel. You can be an unmarried parent and be amazing.

While I do understand your argument, I dont necessarily agree with you. I dont think that humans are better than animals, we are animals. And I think that having sex, as long as it is practiced safely, can be some of the most spiritual and wonderful times of your life. Like psilonaut said, your argument is VERY logical and sex well, just isnt.

 

I think that what needs to happen here...is that people need to not take other people's opinions quite so personally...and perhaps chill out a tad.

Personally, I agree with the original poster, to a point. I think sex is something valuable enough that I want to share it with whomever it is I pledge to share my life with, and nobody else. I believe that the unique spiritual bond made by the act of sex is something that should hold together two people that love each other enough to make that commitment. I would appreciate it if my partner were to keep the same beliefs, but if she doesn't, she doesn't, and there's nothing that can be done to change the past.

On the note of the above quote, I don't think anyone would want to negate the existence of your child. However, overpopulation is a growing problem that must be acknowledged. I believe the predicted time for doubling of the human population is 50 years. The doubling time for food production is something like 90. The predicted population carrying capacity of the planet is around 12 billion, which we should arrive at in about 50 years.
This means:
- starvation will increase worldwide.
- if people keep reprodocing at the present rate, infant mortality and youth mortality will rise substantially.
- Basically, a lot of people will die in unpleasent ways merely because the world that they were born into was not able to sustain them.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that we could combine all the sperm and eggs in the world and have trillions of beautiful children. Every female could go get impregnated right now, and most of them would have beautiful children (I've seen ugly babies). However, the impact on the planet would be negative, and many more people would live a purposeless, sad, anguished, and short existence because of it. From a strictly scientific point of view, if people can't control their sex lives, which seems to be the case, they should, for the sake of the people and the planet, control their reproduction.

 

I've enjoyed every sexual experience I've had, but looking back, while I may not have the will power to wait until marriage, I would have loved to have only been with the girl I plan on marrying.
