Ive got the same problem n tried everything under the sun and it still happens. Funny thing was i formated the drive reinstalled windows it was working fine and after a couple of weeks i hooked my laptop up to the TV and the same shit happened especially whne using GOM player so i stopped using that. Still happens occasionally think its something to do with the driver for the graphics card but i can only find 1 for my laptop on the toshiba website. Got a 2 year guarantee that runs out in a month so ill ptobably send the thing back shortly to them

Thats why I don't like/use a laptop as a main system and always build my own. Your stuck if you have ahardware failure on a laptop.
That way I know every piece of hardware in it and can tell immediately if it's a hardware problem, software problem or virus.

My daughter used to put iTunes on my system to download music to her iPod.

Within 3 minutes I could tell it was on my system just by how unresponsive it was. iTunes SUCKS! It is a resource hog and is ALWAYS "phoning home".
It just takes getting familiar with your computer and how it operates.

I know and i will get round to getting a tower but i needed the laptop for portability and as im in Bulgaria and the wages suck it was one or the other at time. Now its just laziness lol.

I bought my ex an IPOD and when she put itunes on the PC the same thing happened, the thing practically ground to a halt. (Was in Germany at the time and it was a tower PC)

The reason iTunes is so rubbish on windows is that it installs half a Mac subsystem with it (including garbage like quicktime).

Also, how do you know that you have a virus?
All you've told us is that you get a blue screen, which is really no help at all.
You need to at least give us the information written up when the blue screen occurs.
You should be able to find it in one of the logs when you next boot if it disappears too quickly.

I would hazard a guess that you have a duff driver or bit of hardware.

Virii don't usually cause blue screens, they tend to be written better and more subtle than that.

As for the stuff about facebook, seriously? Unless you're using IE6 with ActiveX you don't really need to worry about facebook of all sites...
