like i said just because it might not sound all that amazing it obviously might not weight up to something as talented as a mozart piece....it still takes some sort of talent to conjure a music piece.... ALL that say shes not talented has obvious NEVER TRIED to make music period.
Not defending this music, but fuckin' a, GaGa's no slouch! From wiki; ...Having already served as an apprentice songwriter under an internship at Famous Music Publishing, which was later acquired by Sony/ATV Music Publishing, Gaga subsequently struck a music publishing deal with Sony/ATV. As a result, she was hired to write songs for Britney Spears and labelmates New Kids on the Block, Fergie, and the Pussycat Dolls.... ZW
I've tried making music, and I say she's not talented =P 'Talented' is a rather broad word. Anyone that can walk has some talent as far as motor skills go -- but we aren't all Olympian runners, that's for sure. What Lady Gaga really has going against her as far as talent goes; is how great of music has come before her -- from Tchaikovsky to Hendrix to Lennon. When I say she's untalented; I can't claim her showmanship at all, but musically - I say she pales in comparison to way too many before her, and to the hard-to-find-but-out-there-somewhere innovative geniuses of today.
And just because you can sing; it doesn’t make you a fucking politician Lady Gaga in Maine yesterday https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DVgNm9yOyQ4&feature=related"]YouTube - Lady Gaga Fights 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell' Hotwater
like I said b4 you dont get where am coming from since your in a more open minded metal "scene" then I do, so till you come to ozzfest here in the states you'll understand what am trying to portrait like just cuz you might have a liking for Maiden or Metallica doesnt mean your rooted in metal...
We have the Ozzfest scene here too? So what's disturbing about a mainstream artist show her liking for a metalband or cover a popular metalsong without being into metal?
that argument is as flawed as people that say you can't criticize a band unless you're in one record deals are not vindictive of talent, haven't for a long time, especially in her genre of choice
Unless the person is a musician that isn't in a band they don't have any right to criticize the musicianship. They can give their opinion I suppose but it would have no real meaning.... Kind of like when my mom says she likes my songs. I know she "likes" them, but she doesn't really understand whats going on.
If only filmmakers were allowed to rate films, then it would all be pretentious indiehouse stuff. If only musicians were allowed to judge music; the mainstream probably would have a lot more Lady Gaga-like phonies, and resemble the modern art world.
You can say it's "good" or "bad" but that's not talking about the actual music and how it's being played..... Here's an idea, I'll send you the tabs (or sheet music if I must) to one of my songs, you can read it in your head and tell me how it sounds. Once you can do that you can judge the actual writing.
I see you really are kidding yourself. Ah well, you're entitled to ignore criticism from who ever you want but if you want to be taken seriously you better accept that everyone may and can criticize your music. And you're idea is ludicrous. What has the average listener to do with your fucking tabs. It's about the sound and so your music will primarily judged by that. Even in the cases when people don't understand your music and thus their criticism may not be constructive they still are entitled to find your music shitty.
