By NATHANIEL HERNANDEZ, Associated Press Writer CHICAGO - McDonald's Corp. CEO Charlie Bell resigned on Monday to focus on his battle with cancer, the company announced. The fast food giant named vice chairman Jim Skinner as its new CEO, and the board elected Mike Roberts, CEO of McDonald's USA, to the position of president and chief operating officer. "Charlie is a remarkable leader and well loved by the McDonald's family, and we fully understand and respect his decision," McDonald's chairman Andrew J. McKenna said in a statement.
I don't care what the guy has done. I cannot rejoice in someone having cancer. I would rather have seen him come to justice in a way that would have shamed him and made him answer to the world.
That's old news... but I didn't realise he resigned. He only got posted to that position a few months ago! He's an Aussie - go the Aussies! Though McDonald's does suck
nah thats a rather new story, from a couple days ago.. maybe your thinking of that other mcdonalds dude that got cancer a few months ago.
why not cheer? this fellow is particularily responsible to addicting millions of people to a vile form of "food". no doubt countless people, and billions of animals suffer for them to make their dollars.
wasnt this dude on a public broadcast show about this guy in mcdonalds management who tried to work at a mcdonalds for a couple weeks or something and had lockers installed in the locker room of the restaurant because none of them locked i have no idea what program it was, it was not very long ago, maybe its the same guy it was in europe or australia, dunno which hmm dunno
Being happy in someone elses suffering just isn't in my bag of tricks. I have no qualm;however, with speaking truth about what they did. Those are two very different things.
Ahh you can't make choices on your own? I don't eat fast food because I choose not to. Not because of some advertising.
sure but it's still not right to wish illness or even death on anyone, is it? true he is kinda responsible for a lot of people gettin obese, unhealthy etc... but we're in no position to wish him cancer or death, you like that if someone did it toyou?
cheering for someone elces problems is horrible... Im glad there is mcdonalds! there happy! spanding less! getting fatter! why would i care about it if i dont eat there? eating there is a choice you dont like it dont eat there
It's like Orson Scott Card's , Speaker for the Dead. A true accounting of the individuals life complete. An honest accounting of their actions in a lifetime. Every person must face their transgressions at some point in this life. For many it comes at the moment of death because they have been previously unaware of their own true responsibility. In that vein, would the poster of this be prepared to provide that speaking?
Wow I am so pleased I stopped in here. I expected to see a few people saying he deserved what he got. I am happy to see most responding with love in their hearts. If you think he is responsible for suffering in other peoples lives, then are you not doing the same thing you are accusing him of if you are happy about his and his families suffering??? I don't believe you can become "addicted" to Mcdonalds. If you are hungry and you eat something healthy then you become satisfied. Its not like you will go into "DT's" until you get that fix from Mcd's. You don't end up in rehab if you stop going there. I used to be one of those obese people, I made the choice to not care what I put in the pie-hole. Then I woke up and started being responsible to myself. I also have done some things in my life I'm not real proud of, but I learned some lessons along the way and am trying to live as right as I know how. Should I be on my death bed and deserve suffering because of stupid ignorant things in my past??? Please realize that we are all on different paths and we all learn different lessons and some of us will die without completing all the good we probably could have. When you see someone who is a shit....think that maybe they just need more time to figure it out, and usually the ones who show the least love, need it the most. teepi
