I'm very confused as to why this is an interesting topic to anyone..

 

I just wanted to address the fact that just because anyone might like Judas Priest, Iron Maiden or Metallica* doesnt mean you like metal music.

 

Who cares man. You're so pointless when you give in to your urge to adress such points, And it's not even a fact, it's your interpretation. Guess what, of course some people who like Metallica and Iron Maiden do not know or like other metal bands. Some of them are mainstream celebrities and some may feel like covering a song of one of the few metal bands they dig. SO?

 

It certainly means you like some metal.


I think there are a few different takes you can take on a fan:
- someone who likes something -- a lot ("fuck yeah! 103.8 played And Justice For All.. today")
- someone who likes something -- no matter what ("St. Anger has some good parts..")
- someone who connects with something to an almost spiritual extent ("life has been meaningless since Load")

Personally, the second one is an absolutely disgusting fraud; but I know that's probably biased of me.
The third, is obsessive, extreme, but definitely applies to me and Batman =P
But I just can't imagine what's wrong with number one.

 

she's a commercial pop musician, her fans are fans of pop. the Metal they know will be little to none beyond Metallica, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Ozzy, Megadeth, Anthrax, Slayer or whatever shitty nu/*core band that their label is pushing as Metal so namedropping any of this shit=fan of Metal. they aren't going go delve deeper and know fuckin Kreator or Sodom, it's doubtful they even listen to the accessible shit, it's just good publicity-makes you look "open minded" even "extreme"

I said it b4 and i'll say it again. If you have a record deal your talented, I dont care if its major or indie its what you do with your talent is your business but to have a record deal is to have talent. For example christina aquilars music is shit but her vocals skills are epic. Also from that gaga video it interesting to see that sees a pop singer and can actually play her songs on piano and also she ampd to a mic and not sure what other mic mixer but she sound extremely clean their for shes talented.
