Recently my friends have began asking me if they could take some music from my computer. It's not the legal aspect that bothers me at all, it is the idea that someone would rather be handed interesting things than discover them themselves. I know I don't own these songs or anything but the idea of someone else developing their taste in music straight out of my hand really bothers me. How can I keep things special when I go into my friends room and hear a song I once treasured myself blaring in their rooms?

Do you feel this way or does this even make sense?

I feel the opposite as well. I love to turn people on to music I like that they may not have heard before. Gives me the feeling that I may have helped the band in question gain a new fan. And if they do the same, and others after them do the same, that is how word spreads to help a band. If the band gets help from us fans, then the band can continue to make more of the music I like.

music is meant to be heard.... it's the only reason it exists

just because a tune resonates in you (as a good tune should) doesn't mean it was written only for you.. spread the joy :eggnog:

I always try to, but the thing about hidden treasures is there is a good reason they are hidden

mostly every average numskull you try and suggest a great group too are pissed that they don't sound like the Foo Fighters.

When I find something new that I like, I want to share it with the world. I dont think its cool to horde music even though finding it is the best part. Turns out though some people just dont know how to look for music, even if you show them. I guess they lack that drive... or something.

    Always share the wealth man
