hi people, i read in Van Gogh's biography by David Sweetman called "The Love of Many Things" that Vincent once had a hot argument regarding art with Paul Gaugin at the end of which one of them assaulted and injured the other with a pocket-knife!! can artistic arguments turn this violent? are artists intolerant of other artists views on art?does this still happen in contemperory art circles?
artistic temperament is a long and still researched theory of a real mental condition good book about it here - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Touched-Fire-Manic-depressive-Artistic-Temperament/dp/068483183X"]Touched with Fire: Manic-depressive Illness and the Artistic Temperament: Amazon.co.uk: Kay Redfield Jamison: Books
Well...Vincent was a nut-job and both parties were more than likely drunk. Something bad was bound to happen.
Yeah, Van Gogh was crazy. It may have made for interesting art, but he was pretty obscure in real life. Just look at his work and imagine a person like that.
