i will be visiting a psychiatrist within the next few days to discuss anxiety and insomnia problems i've been having. i take a lot of other drugs, probably because of the anxiety and i'm hoping to receive a script for xanax to really help with my symptoms. i recently started college and i can't be having anxiety and insomnia problems, which have gotten worse since i've been at school. i guess i'm just wondering what to tell the doctor to ensure i get xanax and not some SSRI or something. i do have legit anxiety, so it's not like i'm faking anything, i just don't want to get prescribed to something else or nothing at all..
dont tell him you drink alcohol or you'll get fuck all, thats in my experience anyway, if you tell him you self prescribe benzos aswell he may think you have a drug problem and probably suggest that is the withdrawls from benzos that are causing anxiety, i would just emphasize how anxious you are etc and meybe throw in there that every now and again it gets to much so you take a xanax, vallium whatever and it helps, also enforce this by saying that doing this there are also positive after effects regarding you anxiety and insomnia but try not to make it too obvious that your subliminally persuading him lol
When I got my xanax script, I told the doctor than someone gave me xanax on a couple of occasions when I was feeling especially anxious or when I couldn't sleep. I told him it worked really well and I thought it would be a good solution for my problems.
great. thanks for super quick responses. i'm gonna emphasize that my anxiety distracts me greatly from schoolwork and even restricts me socially. i'll tell him i feel nervous often over small things and that i often stay up very late, unable to sleep because of my racing thoughts. i'll say that i feel awkward around peers often because i am very nervous how they will judge me.
If you end up getting xanax, be prepared to be started with a very low dose. I was started on .25mg. When I went back to the doctor, I told him I had to take 4-6 of them to get any relief from my anxiety or to sleep at night, and he immediately gave me 1mg xanax after that.
I wish you luck trying to get a script! However if you don't succeed, I would suggest looking into Etizolam. I am not sure where you are from but it is legal in many places and can be found as a research chemical. It is also prescribed in some countries legitimately, so there has been human research done. It is a thienodiazepine, which is related to but different than benzodiazepines. I have found it is very effective for anxiety, and I can relate to some of the symptoms you mentioned. A dose of about 1mg etizolam completely removed my social anxieties with little mental effects other than a positive mood lift and slight sedation/muscle relaxation. In higher doses it is quite hypnotic and euphoric, however I have not tried any real benzo to compare it to. Do you drink caffeine? I find in my experience caffeine is a heavy source of my anxiety and racing thoughts. If I have any caffeine it is guaranteed I will be awake for at least 3-5 hours no matter how tired I am. So it could also explain insomnia.
the funny thing is, i don't drink a whole lot of caffeine. i do drink soda and whatnot, but i know caffeine isn't contributing much to my insomnia. i'm excited to start taking xan because from what i read, it helps both anxiety and insomnia. i haven't heard of the drug of which you speak, atom, but it sounds interesting also.
Definitely. Even if it didn't make you sleepy, per se, it would still help you sleep, if you're anything like me. My insomnia comes from not being able slow my thoughts down enough to sleep, and I lay in bed for hours upon hours, just thinking about random shit and it prevents me from being able to sleep. I can be falling asleep on the couch and I'll decide to go to bed, but as soon as my head hits the pillow, I'm wide-awake with racing thoughts.
I went to the doctor about anxiety and got put on Zoloft. Worst medicine I've ever taken. I also have problems with Restless Legs. I can't sleep very well at night because of it and am usually super excited and moving my legs almost all the time wether sitting, standing, or laying down. I guess I could go back and talk to my doctor about xanax or something? Any suggestions about things to try would be really good.
The doc I had been seeing for a while definitely understood my actual conditions well, so I got my scripts pretty easily with just straight up truth. I told him the story of the sketchy rave stairwell valium, but I also told him, how it melted away the anxiety, allowed me to function socially (at the rave ) and was exactly what I needed and I got it scripted, along with zopiclone for insomnia. I get sublingual ativan, xanax and zopiclone now, but my doctor's legit, he doesn't give me amusable doses really. He's a really smart guy, because he knows I'm a druggie and stuff (not an alcoholic, though, that would change things), but still understands what I need scripted and how I need to take it. I have respect for my doctor, but some of them are idiots with scripting benzos, not that I wouldn't meet one or two of them for a proper druggie script though
i'm happy to report i got em! it's only 20 of the .25mg, but its cool cuz i plan to up the dosage later. i'm stoked.
yeah a short week of taking these, (which i already popped 1.25mg tonight) will be just enough time for me to coordinate my dosage. ill probably be asking my doc to up me to at least .5mg if not 1mg. i'm barred the fugg out right now. later dudez.
ya well of course my tolerance to xan is basically nothing at this point. .5mg today and hopefully i can get the 1mg footballs sometime soon.
im sorry i dont want to burst your bubble here but keep in mind that your doc probably wont be prescribing this for long because of the addictive nature of benzos, dont be wasting pills on getting a buzz because you need them for your anxiety, find a dose that gets rid of your anxiety and you should only need to up it once a week, you'll probably still be wanting a back up plan for when the script ends.
That's what I thought too, but 30-40 blue footballs was barely enough to get me through the day, by the time I finished my first script of blues.
