:{ do you always think about life, and WHY we live it?
i do, lately that is all i really think about.
    why are we here?
why do some people have fabulous lives with no worries (financially or emotionally) while other are born into a cold, harsh reality filled with hardship and various problems that are not easily fixed?

Why is one kid born in a third world country where home is a shack filled with dirt, and another born in a nice, loving home with supportive parents and a huge house and tons of friends?
why do some people have mental problems and all they get out of life is hospitalization in an asylum where they stare at nothing but white walls each day?

i dont see why it is so unfair.

and there are many, many experiences that are lost, that slip through our grasp through our life journey, and can never be retained. For example, some parents are overprotective and dont let their kids/teens do anything. all the experiences that COULD have been, are lost. and they can NEVER redo their teen years. they'll have pretty much wasted 1/4 of their life because they were born into a family that had set restrictions. or, someone who had parents who let them do ANYTHING! think of how much more they get out of life.

this is why i like the idea of reincarnation. this way, you get to experience life fully and completely, and everything is fair and it would make sense why people have a preference of liking for certain things that are unexplainable.

we learn, we work, we die, we plummet through the unknown.

then we die. and everything was really for nothing. everything we think matters, really doesnt. all this stress, for nothing.

who am i going to hang out with for lunch? irrelevant.
why does that girl give me dirty looks? irrelevant.
why am i getting mad about this situation? irrelevant.
did that boy just make a rude comment about me? irrelevant.

all these little things are so irrelevant when you think outside the box. why get angry? you have one life that you only are able to live once. this is all you get.

    i do believe in God.

and i have many questions for him that will never be answered until i die.

but i cant stop questioning what can never be answered.

I think it's up to the individual to make best of their situation. God gives them a chance to be born, brought forth into this world, but it's up to them if they will get anywhere.

It's hard to say that as I know where I have been, but remember that what could be a meaningless event for a "no body" today could mean the world a few years down the line for a "somebody".

I wonder about purpose, but in a different way. I think the meaning of our lives comes down to the individual, that is, it's up to the individual to find or give meaning to their own lives. For me, what I wonder is what the hell humans are FOR. It seems that everything else out there has some reason for being out there that contributes to the greater scheme of things, whereas we seem to be hell-bent on just destroying shit left and right...

As for injustice, I don't know why it happens, but it's definitely not unique to us. Why are some lambs born deformed and destined for a short life? Why do some seeds never germinate? I think the best thing to do is probably come to peace with the unknown and learn to find meaning in what's certain.

Life isn't inherently fair or unfair, it is what it is, and if someone in a certain country is better/worse off than someone in an other country, it's only because that's the world we humans have created.

It is unreasonable to blame "God" for anything. We have been put on this paradise of a planet, with its advanced lifeforms and vast multitude of creatures, for no reason. "God," the consciousness of which reality is a physical manifestation, would have no will or desire one way or the other (that's a human trait.)

So I think the best answer to your question is that we are given (blessed with?) life in order to enjoy it. Simple as that. Because of our egocentric nature we tend to think there must be more to it, it is important somehow, it should be a certain way, all this stuff we do has to matter somehow, but really, it's very simple and objectively meaningless. Enjoy it, for it is short and fragile, and you are lucky to have it.

Jimmy is right. My view is that life itself is lifeless; it has no personaility, it has nothing, and life itself knows nothing because it is nothing but a mere existance.

Is a bucket of water fair or unfair? Neither. It is just there. What people confuse is when they say "life ain't fair", they either do not understand the purpose of what is fair, or they cannot describe what it really it. It is just a matter of circumstance.

Going down a road, you come to an intersection. Do you go straight, turn left or do you turn right? If you go straight, you may wreck and end up in a wheel chair for life. Is that unfair? Yes, but it's not life that is unfair, you merely have unfair circumstances. Turn right, and perhaps you will find a chest of gold a mile down the road. Is that fair? Oh, without a doubt! (Could I be your new best friend, then?) But it's still not life. It is merely chance. (I still want to be your friend then, though! You merely filled that void in time & space. Turn left and you may find nothing. Is that fair? Is that unfair? It is nothing. We can say it is life, but it is merely chance.

What is missed is the meaningless acts that you may make in the process, not understanding the significance of them. Is that bad? Not really, it is chance. Let me give you an example that I personally encountered last fall.

I encountered a couple of young men hitch hiking. One went into seizures whilke his friend was away. I was there. I did what I was supposed to do (I am also a former rescue worker)- Call 911 via cell phone & report the situation, then flip the guy over so he won't asphixiate on his vomit (dispatch freaked out, but "such is life"!).

End result the doctor told me had I not done that, he would have died.

What is so meaningless about that? Well....
... I was going down the road to another county and I saw two kids hitchhiking. Seems like nothing, huh?
... I stopped to give a couple of hitchhikers a lift. Seems like a bit of a risky move, huh?
But in that incrimental act, that meaningless act of me stopping to help, that could very well have either gotten me killed, or it may have only gotten them to the next town. It could have been anything. But it wasn't.

So, is life fair or unfair? Life is only what you know it as. Pretty damn fair for that kid, and honestly, the ego boost I got from the feeling that I got from saving a life, knowing that I don't have to be on a team to make a difference. Is that fair or unfair? It is what it is.

    Oh well. Such is life!

This life is just our subconscious' way of experiencing a physical world. After death we go on to rejoin the mass consciousness that makes up "reality".

Where people end up in life is just based on their approach. Approach life with understanding and everything will fall into place before you rather than fall apart behind you. Materialist, paper chasers, war supporters, none of them see this which shows in their lives.

Its not about the money, its about the feeling and feeling good is good enough ;)

Reincarnation is a very comforting thought if you are not living the present life you have to the fullest. ;)

We are given life, then complacency sets in.

It is far easier to blame all exterior forces for our own shortcomings or reasons why we are not living life as we think we should be entitled to.

Life not being fair is an opportunity for change.

You will never be happy if you continue to search for what happiness consists of. You will never live if you are looking for the meaning of life. ~Albert Camus
