Well, I Finally Found Out When I'm Going To Court

Good luck with everything friend.I was on probation for 18 months, it was tough. I don't know if they are going to drug test you every month or not, but I hope they don't. I had to quite smoking week for my probation it sucked so bad.

Thanks My probation will be over as soon as I'm finished paying my fines though, based on my understanding. Also, I already haven't smoked weed since last December. I've been trying to keep my system clean for when I finally find a place that wants to hire me. lol I'll also have to take a drug test when I try to get my citizenship in NZ, so it'll be a while before I smoke some weed.

 

I wish you luck man. I don't really have any good advice to share but it will be good to be done with.

best thing to do in jail is either hope you get a cell that sees the tv or read a book... but im sure you already no that

lifes fuckin crazy dude i got my first new charge in a LONG time two or three weeks ago (minor in possession of alc.) and luckily its lookin like i wont even have to get probo at all from it (i was fine with the two days i spent in jail way fuckin better then 6 months or a year in the system)... i guess what im tryin to say is keep you head up, yah? jail sucks no doubt, and just fuckin thinkin about goin back makes me physically sick (and ive only had to deal with jdc lol) but once ur out if u just take advantage of not being on probation, then id say u cut yer losses pretty well

Thanks The only think I'm really worried about is the $1500. That's gonna be hard to come up with quickly. I'm going to get a new birth cirtificate today, so I'll be able to get a passport when I get out of jail. So I'm making things happen, for sure, but it's all gonna take a lot longer than it needs to, because of the fines.

Just a thought, is it possible to ask for community service to pay off the fines? Given the nature of the charges, I wonder if a judge might consider it a better form of retribution than a dollar amount. It may also be in your favour to present that as it shows maturity and blah blah.

I just stole some shit that was small enough to fit in my pocket. Walmart lets you take stuff back without a receipt to exchange it for a giftcard, so that's what I was gonna do. When I was leaving the walmart parking lot, I got pulled over and the cop was gonna arrest me anyway for driving on a suspended license, so when he was searching me, I still had the stolen property in my pockets. He thought it was suspicious that I had the stuff in my pocket and he saw me coming from walmart, so he immediately knew I had shoplifted it. Tis fukt.

you seem to have your head on straight about the whole thing, you'll be fine buddy!

the fine does suck, but its not THAT bad... an acquaintance of mine got fined $7,000 once. and like others have suggested perhaps there is a way around the fine... do all you can to look into those possibilites.

if it comes down to it and you do have to pay it, just put in job apps EVERYWHERE. they key is to put in tons... sometimes you even get 2 offers and you get to pick which one you think would be better or easier work. i put in 14 applications just to get the shitty job i got now... but anyways after a month and a half of work, you'll have plenty to cover the fine. as long as you dont have a lot of bills (rent, utilities, cable tv, dsl, phone, car etc) then it wont be tough to get that fine squared away in a relatively short period of time man.

just keep your goals about going to NZ with your lady in mind, and with just a wee bit of determination it'll all be good in no time
