Ok, so i was wondering if anyone knew how much a continuing prescription for suboxone/subutex costs for someone who does not have insurance? Are there clinics, similar to methadone clinics that one could go to in order to get scripted for this stuff? Any personal experiences?

I am not asking this for myself but for a friend of mine who is currently suffering with heroin/opiate addiction.

Any and all information is appreciated. Thanks.

As I said in my thread, most of W/d's are in the head. I withdrew less a cpl weeks ago when 1g of tar/china (.1g = 120-160mg oc) per shot was not getting me high (my W/D's consisted of not being able to eat for 3 days, puking a grand total of once [after drinking too much liquids too fast], temperature fluctuations, goosebumps, and bullet sneezes [2-5 sneezes one after another], and I was able to eat solid food [albeit jail food] after 4 days; furthermore, I was able, but chose not to, get shit while in jail) than when I was using just .1 of weaker shit and always getting high. If you must use subutex/suboxone, just remember that it is only to detox (less than a month using it) and that it is rather expensive (80-200 per doctor's appointment and associated prescription) at around 100-150 per prescription without insurance (according to friends who were prescribed it). and regarding methadone, you're better off just using a quarter of what makes you nod off (of h/oc) every 24 hours (I was only doing one shot every 24 hours exactly [and slipping up only maybe once a week] before going to jail, and had been doing so for a year and a half approximately) and then reducing that number by 10-15% every 2-3 days, respectively. once you're down to a quarter of the quarter of what currently makes you nod, add an hr to your wait every time you use, until you reach 36 hours, and then do half that amount for another 3 36 hr cycles before quitting completely. This is an extremely gentle taper, and you could likely just do a tenth of your nodding dose every 24 hours and reduce that number by a quarter every 48 hours if you really wanted to quit quickly.

    Hey

I read through the entire other thread and agree with you on many points man. I can definitely see that some aspects of withdrawal are in ones mind and that it is possible with strong willpower to overcome these psychological aspects of withdrawal somewhat.

Thanks for the information on the prices. Is the friend of yours also in Ohio? I know that prescription rates differ greatly from state to state. Doctor to Doctor and what not. I also agree with you about the Methadone treatment, from what i have, people have mixed reactions to going through that treatment, for some it works wonders and they are able to take it for a while, weine themselves off of it, and be clean for the foreseeable future, however for others, they start taking it, and they dont stop taking it, they just use it to get high, and not better.

Also, the state where my friend lives, Doctors appointments are quite expensive, and he also happens to live in one of the most expensive counties in the country in regards to living costs. :(

The tapering off process that you mentioned above seems to be a good, slow way of coming off of something, (h or OC or otherwise). You said a year and half you did that? Wow man, much respect.

Anyway, again thanks for the advice. If anyone else has any other experiences like the above mentioned one, please share so i can gain a little more information. Thanks.
