An old friend's mom has cancer

Our families go way back, me and this kid were like best friends in middle school then he moved away. My mom and his were like that in school too.

Now, she's got some sort of cancer and I really want to try to tell him/their family that maybe THC could help her out, as scientific studies have shown. I feel like this is the right thing to do, but idk if I can tell them.

Basically, they're a law-abiding, Christian family (as is mine) so I don't think they would even consider it. It would be too "revolutionary" for them to grasp. Especially in a place where medical marijuana is not even a topic of debate.

Does anyone else understand my dilemma? Should I just tell him anyways, maybe tell him to do some research on his own to help his mom?
