AAAAA-men!!!!!!! I'll translate this for the "simple-minded" disbelievers in rock 'n roll, if I may!:)
In other words, believing means simply getting out of the chicken-pen that the music industry would like to keep us all in (full of chart music, wimpy songs, "danceable" crap, etc.!!!) and not allow us to have the GUTS to check out the REAL GOOD NON WIMPY sounds out there. Where to go to look for it??! Simple: Myspace, Last.fm....just to name 2:):)!!! :)

Let's not fall into the nifty trap (concocted by the EVIL music industry) and believe that sounds like RAP and HIP HJOP will one day replace r'n'r....it has never happened and it never will....these "genres" will learn how to live together, that's all.....just as bands like RHCP and Faith No More have demonstrated :):)

not like it's all rooted in blues and jazz anyway :/ check out Galactic's last two albums... quite an amalgamation of american music styles from the last century :p

Rock and Roll definitely died in the early 90s, however, i think there is hope. There's this band from Australia that i came across last week, and they really seem to bring back alot of the grunge and early 90's rock elements. Their name is Violent Soho, you guys should definitely check em out if you want something new but actually good. Here's their myspace:

Crazy talk, there were more groovy rock bands born in the 90's than in the 80's and the whole grunge scene together.

Sounds like just another alternative rock band to me. But I have to admit I'm not too big on grunge and alternative 90's stuff anyway.

rock n roll will never die. as long as there's some kid who's hearing jim morrison tell him for the first time to break on through to the other side, or who finds peace of mind after a jimmy page guitar solo, or who finds an escape when he hears the final wails of born to run, or who picks up the guitar after hearing jimi hendrix rip apart voodoo child for the first time....

what difference does it make what decade you hear this stuff? it's always new for somebody and as a result, it's constantly being reborn somewhere.

besides, look close enough and you'll find great rock n roll today.....them crooked vultures, gaslight anthem, the white stripes, the raconteurs, the black keys....it's all at your fingertips
