I recall the visuals being extremely distorted and horrible,=, like I've done lots of psychadeleics and seen amazing, beauitful things, but on dpt, everything was just fucked up and mutated and nothing made sense and I kept going into different time loops in which would feel like I was being torn apart and reassembled. We thdefinitely all thought we;d be trapped in ths house for eternity. fucking weird!
Wow... if you described those effects without naming the drug, I would guess you were talking about salvia.
So really whats so great about dpt other than it seems impossible? I didnt really get much out of my last 2 trips besides one HELLUVA trip and shifted thoughts towards mystical ones.
Personally, one thing is the visuals that blow me away. My visual always goes insane on DPT. Fractals and kaleidescopic visions are crawling everywhere. The complete ego loss has been rivaled by nothing else I've ever done. I think it varies from person to person what it feels like - when I did my first LSD breakthrough experience this summer I got this very DPT like feeling, and vice-versa when I did DPT for the first time in a while a few days ago (a bit over a week now!). I don't really find the experience to make me feel like I'm going to be trapped forever, but quite the contrary. Like I've finally let go of my body and I'm ready to explore. Sure, it can be a little scary.. but nothing good without a little shaking to the core
Let me just say DPT is nothing like salvia, and anyone who is comparing it to salvia is making a great mistake. DPT is a tryptamine. It is by it's very nature -nothing- like salvia. That's like someone taking a line of ketamine and insisting that it's exactly like their last DMT experience!!! Yeah, ok. Sure, for them, it might remind them of both trips, but everyone and their mother knows that ketamine and DMT have absolutely nothing in common other than both being able to bring about states of altered consciousness. Ditto for DPT and salvia. You guys are reading wayyyyy too much into other people's reports of it, and trying to figure out what to expect. You should expect to meet something you could have never hoped to have dreamed to have a chance of expecting. There is no preperation for it, there is no prelude to it, there is no synopsis of it. It is the great ?. Nah same potency. Potency isn't really something that effects the RC community, it's very rare for something (other than LSD) to actually be very variable in potency; don't forget these things all come from the same 2 or 3 giant asian plants. You probably will not wander around lost in your inner world like on salvia, BUT, this does happen sometimes to people even on mushrooms and LSD, so this is more of a personal response to psychedelics rather than something inherent in the actual chemical. But 99% you are going to be lying down flat in 10 minutes holding your face praying to god that you're going to survive whatever the fuck you've just done to yourself. I would say it is not a detachment but rather a furious integration, as the tryptamines tend to produce; melting into your surroundings. Of course "my surroundings" loses all meaning once the drug really starts to get going, as there is no more "my" and "surroundings" is meaningless without a context. There is just the process.
Im not reading way too much into anything, I'm simply trying to learn about what I plan on putting into my body. I certainly don't expect an hour + long salvia trip but alot of what I'm reading makes it seem as if they seem to share some similar aspects. Like mushrooms and mescaline share similar qualities but two way different experiences.
yeah ok they do have some shared thematic elements that is true, i shouldn't comment on the salvia comparison as i have not done it myself properly and so am just assuming it's not similar from a chemical logic when it in fact could coincidentally be similar. but i would say gb if you want the closest comparison it would be DMT. Pretty similar, DMT much gentler "watery", DPT much more "*FIRE*". mushrooms in this context i would term "airy" perhaps, to give you further idea of what i mean by this analogy.
That makes sense, and thanks for the analogies. based on the chemical structure and like the rest of that description by Pinchbeck and others, I am I guess 'expecting' something more like DMT but even then I'm still going to try to suspend expectations as much as possible.
that's very good advice. for someone who is going to attempt a salvia breakthrough. i agree that they are chemically not similar, and that the experiences are probably not all that similar. but i could see salvia being "closer" to DPT, than say LSD
