I just read all about the rainbow family and i LOVE it!

this is like the coolest group i've ever discovered! I'd love to go to a gathering but im all the way in new mexico! but by the time the 2011 gathering comes along in jwashington i will be 18! joyous day! i really really really want to go it would be the best experience of my life, but i need to find someone to go with and all that jazz..


it sounds so fun. does anyone have any experiences at a gathering you've been to you'd like to share??

Yeah, the rainbow gatherings are cool.

There can be problems though (death camp, A camp, rip offs, etc.) but still worth going to.

The love and the community can be really great. I think that sometimes people just show up for free drugs though. There are also some family with serious alcohol/drug problems.

Warts and all, rainbow gatherings are still an awesome community.

There might be some regional gatherings out where you're at. Also, I think that there is contact info out there for family. I met a couple of people from New Mexico who were super nice.

If you are generally prepared for camping, that will help. Maybe do some camping ahead of time.

Nothing is every bought or sold at a gathering, so there is no need to bring cash, except what is needed to put into the magic hat. Don't bring anything that would break your heart to lose. You might want to read the raps that are on the web.

Just show up and we will show what love is all about.There is bad at the gathering but there is bad everywhere,just look at all the love and you will see the love shine through.Stay with the family and try to work at a kitchen or helping people find a campsite or something.We all need everyone to help out or it won't have that rainbow magic.There are plenty of regional gatherings all over the world now.They are just as beautiful as the national but have fewer people.Hope I can make it next year .Hope to see soon.Peace &love!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You shouldn't have any problem finding a ride...NM is pretty thick with Rainbow hippies, especially Santa Fe/Alb/Taos. And Silver City...and I have a bro down by Carlsbad, but I think he's going back to OR soon....Hell, we're everywhere....

I'm sure you know the Annual was by Cuba a couple years ago, and by Tres Piedras in '95.
