I've heard to eat Amanita Muscaria on an empty stomach. Why is that? If you're going to have nausea and throw up any ways, does it really matter whether you've eaten anything or not? Or is it more due to the fact that your body will absorb the muscimol better if you have nothing else in your stomach? I'll be eating the mushrooms as opposed to drinking a tea or smoking.

Many people prefer to fast before any psychedelic because it will absorb faster. Some say it doesn't have an impact on how hard it hits you, only how fast the effects come on, but I think it does. If you're prone to puking, you probably will puke regardless if you have eaten, you'll just puke up bile or water or whatever.

I don't have experience with amanitas in particular, so I can't say what the difference in eating vs. drinking tea is (I'm fairy sure it's similar on all counts), but I've read that smoking produces different effects altogether.

Well I've noticed that even with cannabis or alcohol, if I have an empty stomach, or haven't eaten anything in about 8 hours or longer, my body absorbs the chemicals and is affected by it much more intensively than if I have food in my GI tract.
Thanks. I'll try fasting the morning of and see what happens.

you are putting psychedelic fuel into the engine of your metabolism. it is better to have your engine clean and empty and waiting for the fuel rather than stuffed with carbs and proteins and things that it must divert work to. you want your body to be committed fully to the substance.
