Wounded Healer Signing On

Hello all. I was PM'ing with someone who I now consider a friend and they reminded me that I hadn't done an introductory post. So here I am.

Not sure how much is TMI, but...

I'll be 50yrs old on September 18th arty:

Born in Los Angeles Calif., most recently spent 11 years in Washington DC (I hitch hiked across country. It took all of 7 days and that's with a weekend party stop in Dallas). I now reside in Houston, TX where I work for one of the big oil companies (still rooting for electric cars and alternative/renewable energy sources).

I've meditated for most of my life but am now convinced (and have been for a while) that I don't have time to sit reciting a mantra in order to reach where you all routinely go with Spice, etc.

I also used to run a website but it didn't do what I wanted it to (facilitate an early retirement) so I sold it. Now I simply have some web space for blogging thoughts, etc. Haven't given up on financial independence however.

Sorry to be missing Burning Man. Thought this would be my year to check it out in person. Next year for sure.

To be honest, I found this site by doing a web search for scam artists because of a couple of dumb moves on my part. I know... fine time for due-diligence but at least I've now found you all.

Glad to be here and intend to contribute when I can.

Welcome to Hipforums! Glad you are here. My husband and i are also missing Burning Man, but hope to go in 2012! It's on our "bucket list" of things to do before we die, "Go to Burning Man!"
