Just curious as to how many of your guys knew a real junkie or are a real Junkie?
Ever seen a rig using a pacifier as the plunger.

When I lived in Jackson, Ms. I knew a dude named Blackie. I remember he had a script for some coke for a sore on his foot. Couldn't get it filled in Jackson so I drove him down to Florence which had some in stock. On the way he took 8 10 mg tabs of morphine, shook it up in a spike and put it in his leg. His veins were gone. Said he had even ruined the veins in his penis. Morphine and dilaudid were tiny little tabs which evaporated like smoke in a rig. Sweet!
Seems Dr. Moore had written the script and no one in Jackson would fill a narco script from him.
Ever see Pulp Fiction? The blood flowing back in syringe when he's shooting still gives me an erection.
    Those were the days.

Script for coke due to a sore on his foot? WTF? I don't even see the theory behind this.

Back then - maybe now - I don't know - but if you had a running, open sore you could get a script for coke flakes (pharmaceutical) which you sprinkled on the sore to numb the area and relieve the pain. It also would evaporate in a rig and give you a 3 minute orgasmic experience when you shot up. Maybe orgasm X 2. Holy shit - just the thought makes my mouth water.

Ok, that makes sense. Well I'm off to jam my foot in some disease infested hooker, LOL
But seriously anesthestics have come a long way. They prob have something that numbs now with no fun effects. Think Lidocaine or Novacaine. (Do these come from Cocaine? The Caine makes me think they numb without stimulation)

Cocaine is actually still used medicinally. I work at a pharmacy that does compounding and a few of the recipes for compounds require cocaine. we dont keep any in stock and as long as I've worked there we've never used the compouds that use coke, but I know its still legal for medicinal purposes. They also used to use cocaine before surgery to numb the local area. I'm not sure if lidocaine and novocaine is derived from cocaine, but thats a really good theory...It makes sense. I think i'm going to find out about that.

Probably chemically related. I know someone I knew knocked off a pharmacy and among other things, I got a bottle of liquid Zylocaine. Tried to hit it up - nothing. Waste of time and pain tolerance. I think Cocaine is pretty much the standard.

I know cocaine is used for some eye surgeries as well as surgeries pertaining to the nasal/throat area. I suppose wherever there is a hole it can be used. I have heard of peeps stickin rocks up their ass/cooch to get off.
Maybe I'll start an anal crack smoking movement. I'll call them Rectum Rocks!!!

That can be tough. Being a junkie and being in the family of a junkie are two very different things. A junkie can bury his feelings as deep as he wants too - his kids can't always do that. Dope needs to be his wife, children and inlaws.

    Never heard of coke scrips...lol

But yes, I was something of a junkie. Well, I'd say 'drug addict', because I think there's a difference.

Junkie -- Steals, robs, begs, schemes for drug money

Drug Addict -- A more functioning drug abuser. He might neglect some responsibilities in order to get high, but shit, who doesn't need get high before little Jimmy's soccer game?

Anyway, I abused Oxycontin for about 3 or 4 years. Got clean about 2 years ago. Mind you, I still enjoy partying; I'll do a line at a party if someone offers. And I just had some painful dental work done, so I'm on Percocet right now. Being prescribed the painkillers made me nervous at first, but after a week of taking opiates, I can safely say that I don't think I could enjoy taking the shit casually again.

But being a drug addict/junkie does make for some adventurous activities. Plus, when you look at your problem, there is a lot of dark humor as long as you don't take yourself too seriously. I honestly crack up when I think back to my doper days.

I think everyone should abuse drugs for at least 6 months. It makes for some hilarious times, as long as you don't get shot whilst trying to cop.

Quig, your post hit home with me, I agree 100% . I too was a drug addict (not the thieving lying junkie). I went through a Sub program and cleaned myself up. I consider myself a 'drug enthusiast' now. No more withdrawals and I don't necessarily need to get high but I enjoy it when I do. All it takes is discipline and strong moral fiber, I guess the English call it being a 'chipper'.
I still prefer using a needle and I hate how people call me a junkie for doing so. They always say it's gonna kill me or lead me to rockbottom where I am gonna rob/steal/lie. Even when I was doing a bun a day if I didn't have money I just went sick. It disgusts me how so many people blame the drug for their behavior. In the end it comes down to you and your values/morality. It's not the drugs fault, it's yours. That statement is prob gonna piss people off, but thats my honest opinion.

A true junkie would probably disagree with you. When the monkey gets you by the throat it's like being underwater and seeing the surface above you. At some point all you want to do is break through and get some air (dope).
I'm kind of like that. My defense is putting myself in a position not to have the shit available to me. If it's there it may as well be water to someone dying of thirst. It's more than simple moral turpitude. Maybe it's a gene that puts you in that frame of mind. To say that it is a lack of morals/values is just too pat, too convenient, too self serving. A true junkie knows the obsession, the panic, like being in a coffin with 5 feet of dirt on you.

Yeah I know what you are saying D, I am no means saying thats exactly how it is, maybe I am the odd man out (kinda weird since addiction runs in my family). What pisses me off though is how I automatically get thrown into that stereotype of a junkie becase I use intravenously. I should be judged as an individual, not as a whole of a junkie genre.
How does this sound, there is no clear cut answer to the path addiction will lead someone and their decisions. Everyone is an individual so no two will be exactly the same. (similar yes, but not exact) Like the old addage 'The world don't beat to just one drum, what may be right for you may be wrong for some"
    Can we agree with that?

Sure - I can go with you on that. Plus, if people call you a junkie just because you use a rig they are just ignorant. For someone like you it's simply a matter of preference. Almost like preferring a bottle over a can. Honestly, as far as the high goes, there is nothing like iv. Coke, smack, dillies, morphine - if people haven't tried a needle they just don't understand. Why drive a scooter when you can drive a Jag. I know what of you speak. You can take it or leave it, but when you take it - go for the gusto.

I don't know why but peoples ignorance with that really gets under my skin. Prob cause the people telling me I'm trash are poppin and snortin pills like crazy, but put me down cause I like heroin and needles. Like you said it's just a preference, I don't see how people can't understand that, it's not that hard to contemplate.
I guess you could call me optimistic, instead of telling someone they are wrong or bad from the get go I want to hear their story and thoughts. Maybe there is something to be learned or gained from them by talking about their lifestyle. I think it is better to debate with someone than having a one sided verbal lash out against them. You never know, maybe you find out you were wrong and gain some insight instead of being stubborn/thick headed and sticking to a philosophy that may lead you into trouble.

I was on OxyContins,Diluadids, etc. methadone and heroin for 5 years ,and I also was a meth user and cocaine injector as well as injecting all drugs that were injectable, but I managed to get off the opiates/heroin,and the meth and cocaine, now I am on Benzo's and other pills from a shrink to keep me sane...lol..I had nose surgery about 6 motnhs ago and the hospital sent me home with a brown bottle of cocaine in saline nose drops to stop the bleeding and numb the stiches ,but it was a diluted solution and I had to inject for old times sake about 80 units to get a mild rush from it so it was defintely diluted compared to the big shots of coke i did back when i was an addict..anyway that all i gotta say...
