I would like to hear from any of you on the "best" place to go for us. While IC's are great, I feel I would function much better as the friendly neighbor than a full member. I have full automotive/truck tools to fix anything car/truck/tractor/appliance/plumbing/electrical... 1947 Working Farmall tractor and many vehicles/boats... I would love to find a group building earthships, but I cannot be in a position where my name would not be on my own deed. Looking for community that does not beat its kids with the bible, the belt...or the bible belt. Need a south western dry climate and preferably in one of the states where medical marijuana has been established already. Any of you know where there are free thinkers in a rural setting who could use a really good mechanic? Anyone interested in building an earthship? Would love to hear ideas. Michelle and I moved to Bedford County Virginia 6 years ago and in that time, the specific area we live in, has gone from rural to "a suburb of Lynchburg." We used to like the general store and the small town feel. 5 local farms have been turned into McManshion districts in the last 3 years and we want OUT! We heard about Silver City area, but the prices are so high there. I know there is a group somewhere in the US with cheap property nearby that would love to have us living next door. Do you have this property? A place where zoning is a state of mind, not rules for your dwelling and property? The bible belt is just not the place to make friends for us. This area is so infected by the "turbo-christians" that it has soured for us. Sad, but true. After 38 years in New England, we thought rural VA would be a great change. It was. Now we are looking for ANOTHER great change! Can you help us out?
One of the best ways is with SLIME, available at any auto parts store...or even the evil entity that is (shhhhhhh!) wal-mart (shhhhhhh!)
