I wonder how many others have practiced nudity when it was unnecessary or even risky. When I was living alone, I would go out in my car after dark, wearing only a pair of shorts. Later I would only carry the shorts in the car while I was naked. Finally I got brave enough to leave the shorts at home and go out completely vulnerable. If the car had quit for any reason, I would have been stranded, completely naked! It was this possibility that made it so exciting! Has anyone else had similar experiences?
I do it as well. I will go outside to take a piss, ducking around the corner, but open to the chance glance. When I lived in an apartment, I would often time a hard on in boxers for those annoying solicitors. My dick would be popping out as I answered the door. I also had a hot postal female once. I would keep the door open (screen shut) and buck naked while on the computer. The desk was positioned perfectly that I would have to cross in front of the door when she rang to put clothes on. At work, I would jack off late at night when I knew the cleaning crew was coming through, and would have the door unlocked. I was so waiting for this hot older lady to come through. She actually walked in on me one time and I was able to convince her to stay and watch me finish.
I've gone naked a few times on unofficial beaches. I've also gone naked in saunas where not officially allowed, though would not call that a risk.
During our last vacation (14 Sept. 09) in Charleston SC, the last night we were there, I was naked in the pool, my gf was sitting at the table, she had her suit on, and a couple poked there head out the door and asked how the water was, I said it is fine, come join us, they said they might, but after another 45 min, we left. I know they could see me naked in the pool, maybe that was why they never returned. Plan to do that on all our vacations from now on.
Jen, You sound just like me! I've often gone from home to the nude beach and back without putting on a stitch of clothing. The only tricky part is getting from the parking lot to the beach! But more awesome is driving naked down a lonely country road with the convertible top down. My next challenge is to get some self photos of myself standing in the middle of a road using the timer delay with camera mounted on a tripod. I've done self photos at the nude beach and had others photograph me naked in public places. But I've never done self photos in a public place. ~Tina
I attend most street festivals in San Francisco naked and also go out at night with friends for naked walks in the Castro. Nudity is not illegal in SF.
Exhibitionism !!! Having been a member of a number of naturist forums I have come to the conclusion that there is definitely an exhibitionist streak in nearly all naturists. Tempered to largely by fear of embarrassment or arrest. Being naked where there is a risk of being caught does give most of us a buzz, probably psychosexual. Me I garden and do other things nude around the home when I know that it is possible people could see me though if anyone said anything I'd be mortified. Careful yes but not always that careful.
I think that the thrill of getting away with being unseen is not the same as the thrill (for those who like that sort of thing) of actually being seen. I would caution against using forum comments as a guideline for what real world nudists are thinking. Most of my nudist friends never ever go on online forums. They are too busy being nude in the nearest naturist camp.
I haven't. Also I don't get the whole idea behind it: As long as it's warm and you feel more comfortable without clothes - fine. But why do you thing being nude is exciting? I just don't get it.
Fleur, Since this thread is not about nakedness in general, but is about being naked at unusual times, I guess that some people enjoy the sense of not having the restriction of clothing in a setting where you are ordinarily expected to wear something. A few years back, in the English Garden in Munich, Germany, large numbers of people would sunbathe and frolic in the water naked in the city park. There was an area set aside for nude park visitors and one had a freedom to roam nude that exceeds the possibilities of even the largest naturist parks. As for the broader question about why someone would find nudity exciting... First of all only a moron or a liar will tell you that anything in life can give you sustained undiminished excitement. But nudity outdoors can certainly provide moments of pure bliss that cannot be experienced while one is wearing clothes. Clothes are a form of sensory deprivation. Granted, we wear them of necessity to protect our bodies, but it comes at the expense of our sense of touch. Living wrapped in clothes your entire life, you have no idea what you are missing. This experience is sensual without necessarily being sexual. You are in intimate contact with the breeze, the warmth of the sun, gentle rain, flowing water, the feel of soft grass beneath your feet. It is hard to overstate how powerful it is to have no barriers to your enjoyment of the world around you. Social nudity has psychological benefits for many people. For one thing, having a bunch of people gather in a campground, park or resort with this shared reverence for the body, love of freedom and egalitarian spirit, we naturally create a community of very close friends. Our sons and daughters tend to fall in love and marry one another. We welcome life-long nudists and refugees from the world of clothing who are escaping terrible body image problems or people who are victimized by some religious demonization of the body or people who are tired of gawking and lewd comments. It's a better way of life, not perfect but much better than what most of us came from.
I'd love to be nakie outside, but I'd have to do it at night. I sunburn far too easily, so much that sunscreen doesn't help.
Arqiope, I respect your caution, but you could probably venture out when the sun is real low in the sky and enjoy a bit of daylight without burning your skin. Most people need some moderate exposure sunlight to get the vitamin D we need in adequate doses. You can get it from diet if you make sure to eat foods that will give you vitamin D. You also benefit by exposing your entire body to fresh air (when it is not too cold). The sun doesn't have to shine for you to receive that benefit. What the majority of society regards as an "unusual setting " for nudity may actually be a very sensible choice for you and me. So many times when we are simply acting in our own best interest, and in a way that no one else is harmed, we encounter social resistance, even hostility. It is up to each of us to decide when to take a stand against these traditions and when it is wiser to back down and fight another day and in another way.
I might someday, if I have the freedom to do so. There is a camp nearby with a clothing-optional section, well shaded.
Wife and i were getting hot and heavy coming home from Inlaws and stopped at Nature Conservatory parking lot. There was another car there but thought, "what the heck." Stated making out and I undid her jeans and pulled them right off, then she did mine. Then took her thong off to, so she just had her shirt. Finally we decided to go home to finish off... But i told her not to out her cloths back on. SO we ran from the car to the house and unlocked the door on a busy street!
