is there a particular area that you prefer? I'm from south carolina so I notice subtle nuances of the southern accent...and for that matter, big differences. There is a huge difference, for example, in a thick redneck accent (and for that matter, a redneck from south carolina and a redneck from mississippi) and the soft drawl of a blue-blooded charlestonian.

i absolutely love the way people from the bayou in louisiana talk. I think thats the best southern accent of them all
