Anyone ever been through these kinda episodes ? Kinda just a reflective thread on some crazy times ive had in the past on drugs and alcohol etc and was wandering if anyone can relate.

For like 6 years or so ive been having at least 4 or 5 of these episodes a year when for like 2 weeks or so i just go completely of the rails, consuming as much alcohol and drugs as i can manage and more often than not that i cant manage resulting in frequent stays in the hospital lol

Been through all the therapy etc medication, been there got the t-shirt but its apparent that no matter how much help you can get if its gonna happen it does, its got to be something you actually want to stop doing before you can make progress. For me rite now t-total sounds like an alien concept though psychedelics are proving to fill that void for me that needs satisfying every weekend which is defo proving positive results for me.

It would have been easier for me to have one addiction and stick to it but it was never the case with me and it makes it impossible for your support network to label you ie alcoholic, junkie whatever when you pretty much alternate when your on these binges ie drinking then that leads to drugs and then back to cheap drink when funds are low so your not really getting addicted to anything your just managing to be comfortably numb on whatever substance takes your fancy.

Anyway as i was saying the psychedelic therapy seems to be working for me, counselling etc was pure balls in my experiences. Anybody been through this kinda thing ?

I know what you mean. For me, it's not always starting with one thing and progressing to others, though. For instance, a friend and I were recently discussing synthetic cannabinoids (ie, JWH-018) and I was curious. I'm a regular smoker and tryptamine user (occasional run-ins with cocaine and heroin)-- JWH didn't scare me. After a good deal of research into possible health effect I decided to try it out to slake my curiosity.

My package arrived with what I determined to be enough powder to make 100+ individual "doses" that would get me high each. One session, one dose. I figured out that each dose's peak effects would last about 30 mins tops.

Four days later, I had just been discharged from the hospital. I had smoked through all of it and caused possibly one of the most physically painful experiences of my life.

All this to say-- that was two weeks ago. I do this like once a month (not the hospital, but going through a lot of a good thing way too fast). The synthetic was nice, but I don't see myself doing it again. So, I wasn't "addicted" to it. Just bored enough to re-dose.

In a nutshell, people with the tendency to binge need to be careful (and I include myself in that group). I'm still trying to learn my limits.
