Well I don't believe in god, but bless the world would be my choice. Why should we be stingy with the blessing? =P
Because of course everyone in the world is important, but I'm more worried about the prosperity of my own country and the people I know then others. Besdies, or every person in America saying God Bless America, theres someone in Russia saying God Bless Russia or in Itay, ect... so it evens out. But more importantly, look at the choices the 2nd choice really, I don't believe in Godd.
Well... since America is still part of the world ( yes, you wouldn't believe it at times, but it's true! ), that would mean a double blessing for America, which is unfair. Well, okay, that sounds a little immature perhaps, but I don't see why America and "the world" should be blessed seperately. Why would God bless part of the world more or differently than the rest? I have never in my life, even in the years I belived in God, have said or even thought "God bless the Netherlands". If God exists, than what is said should be "God bless humanity that we learn to live with each other and our planet in peace and harmony".
Because i love America, so i will especially ask God to Bless it. Can you not say "God Bless America and "God bless humanity....?"
It is my home, so yes, its the best country. Just as my mother is the best, and my dog is the best. Sorry this offends so many foreigners. I have traveled a lot, and there are many, many magnificient countries. But, i am always happy to return home.
Yes indeed. Thank you for that. I too wish all the world peace and love. The US is in my view the global leader in many areas. One exception is modesty.
Megara, do you consider yourself a patriot? or very patriotic even? Because If you do than you are a hyprocrite...thinking your country is superior to any other is NOT patriotic, it is nationalistic, and nationalism is very different from patriotism. Peace and Love, Dan
Like i said, i dont think america is better because we have better human beings living in our plot of land. America isnt better because we have the mississippi river, or any silly reason like that. It is the best to me, because my family resides here. It has treated my family exceptionally well. My family left europe dirt poor and came here and have done extremely well for themselves once they were given the chance to succeed. My life is the way it is today because of America. I dont think i could have lived a similar life in any other country. It afforded my family hope and oppurtunity when they were nothing dirt poor berry pickers. I dont think it is wrong to love America for that. I'm sure everyone has a reason to believe their country is the best. There is no absolute basis that we can judge what the 'best' is. My love for my country is very personal. I dont go around pounding my chest and waving a flag. I can get very defensive and can come across as an ugly american when doing so, but if that is my worst fault in life, i will consider myself blessed. If that makes me nationalistic, i have no problem being labeled nationalistic. Home is where the heart is. blackguard: No country has modest people. People say americans look down at them, but people look down at americans too. Every nation has its idiots and its loudmouths. Americans just seem to get the most attention.
i disagree, it is cuz they are very self centred. Other countries do a far better job of teaching their citizens about other countries. USA is generally quite uninformed as to what any other country is about. Like Canada, I get a real kick out of the questions I am asked about Canada when I am down there, it is not malicious, just unaware.
yea america is so awesome, endless strip malls, fat people, white trash, lack of history, etc etc. Its not the worst country, but I see no reason god would bless it, its sort of a thrown together peice of shit really, with some nice natural scenery and a couple of good cities. Only a true moron would think it was the best country, and a moron who should kill themselves in a bloody and violent way, crying as they slowly die.
