oh how exciting for you! a friend of the family has just finally gone back and finished the last bit of this trail. since we're in california he was able to break it up and not do it all at once. like sanchobluesy said.. be prepared and have fun! don't push yourself to hard at first either. know you limits and your pace. take pics and keep us updated when you do go!
I live in Vancouver BC and want to attempt it north to south. there is a bad ass documentary on you-tube. If your interested let me know, ill be back at a computer in 4-5 days.
Thanks for the advice sancho but what is a "get"? And chuck, I'd love to do it North to South but I will have to make it to Vancouver first. If you're willing to wait for me, I'll try to make it there.
Go light. That means no 2 pairs of shoes, unfortunately. Make sure your stove can run on gasoline (ie: no Pocket Rocket) Take care of your feet and take care of your boots. Eat well, and often. Tough to do on dry food. Bloatmeal is a man's best friend. You'll get into the swing of things.
