HELLOOOO all!!! the names Hope but most call me hopie I live in alabama. Im just now gettin started on my dreads..guessin im gonna do the neglect thing and rip them babies up! hmmm lets see what do I like to do.. sit around and toke up with the friends lol thats about all I do besides work!
Hello! I live with my OH and our two kids out in our cottage near Stonehenge - on my 3rd set of dreads and had this lot for at least 17 years now I thinks, OH has had his for over 20 years from what recall don't do anything special with them, just dye and trim them every now and again when they either look dull or piss me off for being too long and heavy I dreaded my hair first time round back in the 80's because it was I thought it was cool, what was was not not cool was putting freezer bag ties (you know, those wire things) around the dreads and then letting them rust in my hair - not a cool look at all ;-)
hey everyone...i'm sunny and i am about a week into the neglect method. i quickly get bored with my hair as it naturally is so i change it all the time. i've dyed and cut it several times...all on my own cause i'm cheap. i've decided this would be my next experiment. =) i've also read about it being a way to cultivate patience, which, as a buddhist, is something i'd like to really work on. i'm a vegetarian. hmmm...i'm 16 and i'm awfully short for my age. but i don't mind. =) i can't think of anything else that's really pertinent (not that my height, age or dietary choices are), so i'll leave it at that. =)
Welcome I get jealous when I hear of other people younger than me starting neglect as I regret not starting earlier as well as going neglect
I think I am going the neglect route, simply by accident. It's just so easy to put my hair up and never think about it for days, I haven't backcombed in almost 2 weeks. I keep chastising myself but it's no use. Takin' the long way 'round!
well i sometimes forget to do brush my hair anyways, so it seemed like the easiest rout. =) I suppose it will take a lot longer than some peoples because i have very fine, straight hair. not much texture at all. but after a week it does seem to be getting some texture so hopefully it will work out. =) thanks for the welcome! =)
You shouldn't backcomb more than once... and if you backcombed two weeks ago then you can't really call it 'neglect.' Well you can call it whatever you want, but that don't make it so.
Hahaha well sweet, thanks guys. That makes a lot more sense My subconscious was leading the way then. Okay but this does amaze me then to how some white people's hair would ever lock by neglect method. Seriously for the past 6-odd years I rarely brush my hair and there is no way it would have locked. I get it, it takes longer this way but wow, I feel as if my hair would take numerous numerous years. Interesting. My ex who has curly hair and rarely brushed his hair either, we would find dreadlocks against his neck and spend forever brushing them out. Lucky son of a gun. Anyhow, thanks again.
I'm Morpheus, play in a blues rock/psychadelic love band with my pianist/meditational mentor. I've been feeding my babi drreads with the fruit of the sun, I've been talking of getting lemondreads for the past year and it finally reached a resonable length 2 weeks ago. Just don't know how to add my signature to my posts
My name is Ariel, I play the cello and I reside in Washington state. I've had my dreads for about 11 months now. 1 year next month, I'm excited! ! I backcombed in the beginning, then let them do their own natural thing. Head scratch. Hidden fatties.
