Hello, basically is 40mg oxycontin once in a while considered a high dose? How much would 40mg oxycontin= hydrocodone?

I used to consume like 30mg hydrocodone all the time 3 times a week or so and it always makes me feel good while 40mg oxycontin makes me feel almost the same except dizzy and my head seems more squeezed feely then usual, but the euphoria remains the same as well as the warmth..

well it isnt the same because they are two different chemicals. 40mg once in a while as you put it, is not a high dose. personally for me and many others i know 40mg is the dose we use to get a nice, decent high. Hydrocodone is the opiate chemical in vicodin. oxycodone is the chemical in oxycontin, percocets, etc.

i think that you should continue to take the oxycodone instead because it does not contain any acetaminophen which is bad for your liver in high doses. be careful either way because as you probably already know, opiates are extremely addictive.

IME, oxycodone is MUCH more addictive...30mg of hydrocodone [and the 3000mg of apap which is still a safe amount for an average sized adult] is a much better choice if you'll still get off on it. it's much easier for people to keep their opiate use "casual" on hydrocodone.

..and as far as i remember, the ratio is about 2mg of oxy is equal to 3mg of hydro.
