I have thought about starting an Intentional Community a number of times over the years, and since I never been in one, I'm really over my head. So let me pick at the brains of the old school hippies (and those experienced with ICs) here and ask you what does it take?

Hope you're not afraid of hard work, and you better do your homework and lots of research. You may want to just help out one that's starting.
You need people who have a like mind to what your goals are, and that's tough to find. I know from my thread, I get many people who swear they're coming to visit, but when we call, they suddenly cannot make it for one reason or another, thus wasting our time writing letters and such.
Many think living in an IC is a great idea until they actually find out what it takes, then they bail not wanting to give up the comfortableness of their home-life.
Yeah, it can be rough and tough at the start up, unless you like the raw outdoors camping and stuff, but if you keep your goals in mind and keep working at it everyday(except resting from sore muscles), you'll eventually become more comfortable and the basics of life will be easier.
I'm still settling in, getting used to the daily routine of feeding and cleaning the animals, I do many projects to help become more organized to make life a bit easier... also been cutting mad wood for winter, I'm going to be prepared, not frozen...lol.
Well, that's it for now, I'll be back if I think of something else... I'm still tired from a hard day yesterday... tilling the garden for the second planting, we have a long growing season here, and even longer once the greenhouse is up.
Check out my thread in the Comunial Living section... 84 acre commune looking for people.

    Peace and blessings

Already saw that thread, and e-mailed you. Work isn't a problem for me, I am less physically capable, though, now in comparison to when I was younger. All those dang car wrecks.....

I hear ya man, dang wreckless as a kid, getting older and slowing down a bit, but I keep on going, keep pushing myself, still got plenty of stamina, though some days I gotta chill, but ready to roll soon enough. Always got a nice fire to relax with, good eats, good tunes, etc.

I didn't get an email in my new post, the other one won't load for me. Try it again at Magickman1333@myway.com
