Walk a dog, this will help more than jewels.

Looking like a treasure chest won't make them more presentable.

You can make your own dread beads with Fimo, and to make them more presentable tie them up or wear a headband

i agree with hdh. if you want to be more presentable making youself more eccentric looking by hanging things from your hair is probably not the best route. I'd say work with them on trying different styles etc.

You can also find random crap on the streets. I knew someone who used to use toe rings...

Make beads, find beads, buy beads, whatever you can think of.
I made all mine out of shells and timber, and then there's just a couple of inner casings from some old skateboard bearing in there as well. I've been wearing the outer casing of one for a ring too

I used toe rings too. Actually I found some fucking nice ones on eBay but I felt silly, putting shit in my hair so I took them out. I don't get decorations for dreads, I really don't.

Wooden beads are probably easiest to wear because of how light they are. Less weight to carry and they will be lower impact if they hit anything or fly off.

I guess it's just the same as wearing any other jewellery. Everyone likes different things though

My dreads are naked, beads and things don't feel right. Then again I don't wear any jewelry either.

Get some clay, soapstone, metal, sculpy, etc, and make it yourself.
