So about a week ago a friend of mine germinated two seeds on a whim, and decided to do a little growing. Once the seeds were germinated, they were planted in some potting soil, in which they sprouted and grew to about 1-2". My friend did some reading online and really put some research into creating a very decent grow box for a single plant for personal medical use. The budget: $80.

So a trip to the local hardware store provided the following items, and the box you see in the pictures was assembled in about 3 1/2 hours.

1x Free Cardboard Box with a cool cut-out from the home and garden section, Dimensions: 15"x15"x33"

2x Large roll of white duct tape

    2x 4" desk fan

    2x Light bulb sockets

    2x 26 watt 6500k daylight bulbs

So here it is...Some opinions, critiques, pointers, anything at all would be great!

First, please do not use cardboard as your grow box, which screams 'set me on fire'.

Second, $80 will not get you very far, but it can probably be done with little buds.

    You'll need to:
-Find an old wood/metal box (at least 2x2x4),
-Install the lights in the grow box, find as many CFL's to get as close to 200w (you need to find out if those lights you have will work / 100 watts per plant)
-Good soil (try to find some perlite to mix in with the soil, about 30%)
-Check out and calculate the cfm you'll need for ventilation with fans

So far I don't think you guys have learned/researched enough to have a good grow, but it'll be a learning experience, good or bad. Learn about how to tell the sex of the plant because even though you got them to grow (they will almost ALWAYS grow, being a WEED) your plants could turn up male and no bud for you.

To be honest the picture of the scrog looks horrible.

I agree, I had way to many plants in that kinda space....but it was my first grow, and I did get 5 1/2 lbs.....so horrible or not it made me happy.

A micro/stealth operation like this calls for a PC GROW BOX!!! :) you should look into converting a PC into a box my boy! its a great way to save some money keep your grow small and mobile and stealthy! If done right using a technique like LST or ScrOG a PC grow can produce a good amount of bud for the space provided
